Can we Euro server peeps go on the PTS when it is the American server brigade turn?

NB I know my characters won't be there

If all our characters are on the Euro server can we still go on the PTS on the American server turn if we don't mind starting a character from scratch?

Yes, you will be making a character as if you haven't played before, but you can go on and test.

The EU server gets copied over in week 3. It's been a source of consternation that EU keeps the PTS from then until the testing of the next patch, since that means NA only gets to test their characters (and bought items like houses) for two weeks per patch while EU gets the other 10-11 weeks, and the two weeks NA gets it are the ones where things are most unpolished.

But yes, you can still start up the PTS and make a character to test.

You have the default 8/9 slots per server. In case you're unaware, you have those on live too. You could make a real NA character right now if you wanted to.

If there aren't any character slots available, you can purchase more for 1 crown per slot. Your PTS Crown balance is reset daily to 5.5k, so you will not have to worry about running out of them.

It let me make a template character without buying an extra slot. Maybe because my characters aren't loaded on there. Very quiet but great fun LOVE the rag lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one has a couple of US kittens just so she always has one of her own on the PTS.

Just nicer to walk in paws you already know a bit.

Be aware that your PTS character will get wiped in a week when the EU character data is copied over. The NA and EU do not get merged. When they switch from NA to EU, it is a total overwrite of what was on PTS before that. Of course, you will have your regular EU character at that point, so you can use that. But don't get too attached to your template character.

Yeah I know they'll be wiped, I'm using the opportunity to play classes I've never played before

. Where do they put the date for the switch over please? Or is it exactly X days from previous patch?

It swaps with the 0.2 patch, so it'll be on Monday's patch.

You can create a level 1 character, or a pre-set template at different levels with access to a lot of resources like mats and set items so you can try things out.

Yes. This one has 18 kittens in EU Tamriel and 5 or 6 in US Tamriel

But they start from nothing. Nothing is shared across the two servers.

Anything that's purchased from the Crown Store is bound to the server you were on at the moment (character slots, DLC, etc.). This means that your EU server purchases will not appear on NA and vice versa.

Anything that's purchased from the ESO Store is bound to your account for both NA & EU (Hailcinder Mount Pack, Chapters, Twitch Drops).
This means that these items are secured for both megaservers & your Twitch Drop/Collector's Edition crates are staying on the server you aren't using.

And then you have used NONE on the US server. All slots still available there. What you don't have is anything you bought with Crowns on the EU server, your champion points, and your EU stuff. You will start anew.

I have one guy on the US server. I made him to try out the new levelling system when ZoS changed everything, and it is useful to have him on the PTS.

On the top left of the login screen it will tell you what server you are logging in to. Click on that and you get the option to switch to the other server.

Also, since this is pts, as soon as you load a character in, you can go to the crown store and buy up some character slots if you want. Everybody gets 5k crowns, and everything costs 1 crown.

The important thing to remember when playing on a different Live server is that your crowns are held per account. So, if for example you currently play on the EU server and you have 5,000 crowns, then log in to the NA server and spend 1,000 crowns, you don't just have only 4,000 crowns on the NA server where you spent the crowns, as you will also only have 4,000 on the EU server - it's a single pool of crowns across the servers and crowns spent on one server are lost on the other server but items bought with them only apply to the server you bought them on.
