I dont see a need for it as I have a dedicated crafter alt for decon. I just pop out the banker, store stuff and continue with my business. Then when doing crafting dailies I decon all I dont need from the bank.

Agree. I tried the new assistant and found it was actually something I will probably use, unlike the Armor Assistant, which I will not get, even though I am that "Must have everything" kind of player. Lol
Time will tell, but I think it will be usefull.

You assume that everyone plays the same as you.

In my case, my bank is full of stuff because I tend to hoard things, including quest rewards that I feel tied to important stories. I know people who hoard all kind of stuff, from sets to RP clothing, potions, furniture, you name it. Others play like you and have 300 free slots in the bank. I have 10

This decon assistant is great because you can do this chore on the spot, and get mats instead of selling stuff for a few gold.

If it was a huge, steaming pile of dwemer brassworks with clunky parts, cranks and levers that looked like an active portable factory instead of a bland humanoid with a plain text interface, I might be more interested.

As is, no thanks. Boring.

Functionally, no point for me, anyway - I usually mail decon stuff out to others still levelling craft skills or, for bound stuff, decon in town/house as required. Most trash is vendored anyway.
