/shakesheadI love this game and as such I wish that ZOS would take the egregious step, to some, of removing player-to-player trades.
Trading should be done only through the guild store system. It will make suspect activity easier to identify.
When a suspect activity is discovered, the guild as a whole could then be investigated and the guilty parties dealt with.
At worst, such will keep the cheaters playing with themselves and allow the rest of us to simply ignore them as they will have no impact on our game play due to the nature of the guild based economy.

Not sure if this follows from what I said. I am solely talking about the RMT trading in game.

How do you separate RMT person to person trading with that of me trading gold to my fiance for a mount or her giving me gold because I really need to buy 20k gold of Jute. There have been quite a few threads from people have been banned for trading gold to friends or family, so clearly identifying guilty parties from innocent ones is not that straightforward under current systems.
Moreover if you ban person to person trading (or mailing it) how am I meant to rob my fiance of her hard-earned gold for my selfish jute buying needs?

Because that is how you kill this game.
Honestly , where people even get these crazy ideas lols.

Yet without 50 members we have no access to guild stores. To remove the ability to make player to player transactions I also would not be able to make the armor and weapons for friends either.
While your proposal would make it easier to eliminate the "black market" it would likely hurt more than help.

If you like this game and this genre, perhaps it is time to step up and do something about this as a community.
Making the game a little more difficult, or inconvenient is a small price to pay.

"Small price to pay." Possibly for you. For others it's a death knell. A lot of the less social players earn their cash with small private trades.
LOL, seriously please stop and think. This is one of the most asinine suggestions I've ever seen in discussions about the 'war' with RMT .. this would be a huge case of legit players becoming collateral damage in that war. There seems to be a ton of actual money to be made by outside parties and as such these parties have infested this game.
Clearly, the ability for player-to-player trading makes for very easy access to the market.
Remove this ability and make it easier to corral the offenders via the guild system.

I assume you don't have friends, so you have no occasion to want to help them out with, say, buying a horse. I assume you're happy to sell everything through the crass guild-based economy this game has and so never want to trade directly.
Good for you, hundreds of thousands I suspect do have friends and/or do want to trade directly.

No, what they should do is have a open trade booth, similar to Swtor's Galactic Market Kiosks, but make it look like parchment and magic ink. This would allow easier trading between people, removing the niche the dodgy traders are filling, and allowing easy tracking of such trades.I love this game and as such I wish that ZOS would take the egregious step, to some, of removing player-to-player trades.

Perhaps, but I imagine that this also applies to the vast majority of RMT as well.
So, for the sake of the game, get a little more social.
