Server maintenance (EU)

Greatings,

Since the other thread got closed I would like to create another one, please be contructive.

I know Zos is an American company, you provide a service for a lot of countrys and USA market is probably the most important to your business.

But planning a maintenance in labor day is just bad for a lot of us in Europe, I think americans wouldn't like to have a maintenance Semptember 1st ( and without knowing how much it will take)

You can manage a bit better you maintenance shedule, for example you could have patched the EU server today and the USA server tomorrow, this way almost everyone would have been happy.

You're not supposed to play video games on labor day anyway.

You're supposed to be out marching against capitalism and injustice.

The companies behind this game use stone age approaches to things. 6+ hour downtime in these days?? That was the standard 10 years ago when World of Warcraft got released. Things are meant to evolve, improve. Guild Wars 2 is a good example of how things SHOULD be when it comes to maintenance and patching. When GW2 has a patch, you just relog and that's it.

How everything about ESO goes shows that:
    • the staff is inexperienced
    • the staff has poor leadership
    • the staff is unable to organize properly
    • the staff is naive (sorry, did you really think you would be immune to gold-seller hack attempts?)

Come on, at least they could let us know in advance. 2 hours would be ok, hell even 1 hour would be good. I don't believe they don't know what's happening 2 hours from now. Bringing down servers should be a carefully planned action which means you know about it in advance - why aren't we told 1-2 hours before it's shutdown?

And why can't you use in-game messaging system to let us know?? You can obviously do it for telling us that "The EU megaserver is currently unavailable" so would it be so hard to send "The EU megaserver will be brought down at X:XXam" 1-2 hours earlier?

GW2 is not a good example, at every patch they broke something :/

ESO has longer downtime because they probably have some sort of quality check and that takes time.

What is this "Labour Day"? I am currently at work, while I could be playing ESO?
