I definitely agree with having more variety in The Golden, both in terms of monster sets and in golden jewellery.

But if I may ask, without trying to derail the topic, why is it you don't like doing dungeons? Is it trying to find a group who can do it? Do it without wiping for hours? Do it fast/slow/paced? Dungeon design? Lore? Mechanics? Something else?

I have no issues finding folks to do them, and if I asked, I am sure my guilds trial progression group members would be more than willing to run any of them with me. They make DLC Vet HM look like FG normal they blow through them so easily.

I would say it is the design of them mostly. I come from a different era I guess, where dungeons were huge and an all day affair to reach the bottom, many side paths, many bosses who all could drop unique rare loot in different sections, were a ton of fun to explore and conquer and everyone had to use their full toolbox to make it successful. Not like ESO where you have a simple path starting at point A and leading you to point B, with no chance of a rare drop or anything different or exciting happening along the way. Basically, they just aren't fun and for me, have gotten to the point of being painful to even enter, years ago. Dungeons in ESO aren't an adventure, they are just another grind to get through.

I really agree with this...to be clear...I don't need it to take hours to feel meaningful....but if you are a first timer on doing dungeons and people tell you that you are an idiot for not knowing how to bypass content...you don't ever get to explore and feel it. Ever. It is just a speed run...get in and get out. Its a grind for most.

So, if you want to experience them...you can't unless you can solo them. You don't know which ones are so hard you have to do research for doing them and which are breezy.

I hate going into a dungeon and feeling like people will be burdened with my presence because I have never done the dungeon. I can read the walk throughs; but I learn by doing. So, I end up soloing them or trying to solo them so as not to inflict myself on others and cause them more "work" because I am there. And that right there is the problem.......it feels like "WORK" to people and they do not like you making their JOB more difficult.

And having to do a lot of research ahead of time on every dungeon in order to use the daily QUEUE; and potentially try every dungeon solo to get the gist and feel of it??? Also, feels a bit JOB-like.

That does not make for an enjoyable experience.

So I really screwed up and just avoided dungeons....and made the problem worse.....because now I am a 1k CP dungeon idiot......(FYI, I now have a handful of low levels I run through to learn dungeons....without training gear or exp bonuses...so they can proceed slowly through the content).

I am only missing 2 shoulders. The most annoying is a Kra'gh light shoulder (of course I am missing one from FG, the easiest dungeon in game, LOL). As far as I can tell, it hasnt been in the golden since 6/2020 and the helm has been there three times since then.

I totally get not putting the latest DLC in the golden for a while, but they could definitely work on making the drops of some of the older stuff a little more frequent and consistent.

I am not sure that the golden should contain everything all at once, but I would not be opposed to doubling the weekly loot pool. Maybe 2 helms, 2 shoulders (dont have to match), 4 rings, and 4 necks. Also something to guarantee some sort of rotation would be nice. It doesn't have to be perfectly fixed, but an item should make the rotation at least once a year. If that means they need to add more vendor slots than what I suggested, then it should be done.

Yes, I realize a new monster set or so gets added extremely rarely (like every other year maybe?), but The Golden really needs to have a lot more in her rotation. For 6 months now I have only found a piece I didn't already own on maybe 2 occasions, and 90% of my monster sets came from The Golden. It would be nice to check her and find something new once in a while, instead of the same few sets rotating in/out week after week. There are plenty of sets I do not have, so at the very least, they have not been on The Golden in the past couple years, but I assume they aren't even in the rotation, while the sets I do own have passed through many times over.

I am not requesting the latest and greatest sets get added immediately upon release of a new DLC, just the ones that have been around forever and still haven't been showing up. Also not requesting more sets be made available at the same time, 2 is fine and more choices of stuff I already own would be fairly pointless anyways.

    Example:
    Grothdarr has appeared 6 times
Domihaus has appeared 5 times in the past year!
Lord Warden has never appeared, even though Imperial City Prison was introduced ~7 years ago I think?

Also, this can be one of the few decent gold sinks in the game, but if the inventory never changes, it isn't very effective.

I've been waiting for Lord Warden too. They really need to fix this.

Ha, I just did a search. I dont think either Zaan helm or shoulders have ever been in the vendor. So funny. This helm got so much hate in PVP, and its like the easiest counter ever. Simply walk away from it. If Zaan is killing you, you have a L2P issue. LOL

Another they could definitely do that might go a long way is to correlate PVE events with the golden, much like they do with MYM (where they put all the PVP jewelry in the golden at once). That would ensure that a lot of items make it to the vendor once a year.

For example, for this weeks event, put the associated helms, shoulders, and jewelry for anything affiliated with Summerset, Clockwork, and Vvardenfell.

I always think the PVP content has some missed opportunities.

You have PVEr's venturing into Cyrodill for various reasons...could be skyshards, or they want one of the skills in one of the skill lines...or achievements...or whatever.

It always seems like there should be an advantage to those PVE activities for those playing the PVP game.

Could you: Provide a Buff to those playing PVP based on the number of PVE quests/activities happening within Cyrodill during a campaign or skirmish? Extending outward.....can the Golden sales and the options...both quantity and type be represented by PVE activities also? Maybe the more PVE type quests completed in each faction determines how many options are presented on the following weekend? Or would that discourage folks from playing Grayhost so they can shop at all 3?

I guess I always think that its a shame that the PVE activities that happen in Cyrodill don't actually impact the campaign, so therefore PVE and PVP players are at odds. But if, PVE activities in Cyrodill benefitted PVP players; you might have a better synergy.

You might even get PVE players who come to Cyrodill now to get their skills/visit the golden/mount speed increases might actually stay around to support PVP.

Scale crawler peak came out in early 2018 I think. The set from Fang Lair has been at the Golden several times now. Zaan should have been there by now.
I also don't believe the games rng is truly random either.

It's not as strong as pre-nerf zaan but the base damage is pretty significant for a proc nowadays. I've seen some zaan builds get 10k damage over like 6 seconds. Pretty strong base damage for new proc system

Yes I agree with this 100% it’s got to the point when I visit the golden vendor I know it’s going to be the same old gear I have already collected. Also include monster gear instead of just Jewelry during pvp events.
I’ve been a member since it’s launch and quite frankly I’m starting to lose interest in the game mainly due to repetition and nobody seems to listen to us.

What it should be is 2 normal sets + 1 DLC set per weekend, however this may discourage people from buying eso+ or DLC. This is in line with how undaunted quests are given out currently. Seeing them give out impen troll king and swarm mother just seems like a wasted weekend.

For this, what they should do is make the DLC Hat. Helm, and Helmet set a higher price in addition to the other 2 that are given out. Try it out with early DLCs perhaps, see how successful it is. I would assume the concern at ZOS is that people would avoid getting the DLC altogether if they could just get it off coffers + gold vendor, but I think this only a fraction of the playerbase and is much needed anticipation/reward for those players who keep it active.

Agree, golden is very outdated. I rather see all available monster sets.

Monster sets behind a paywall or sub could be unlocked through purchase of dlc or ESO plus.

Remove purchase with gold, AP only.
You have the option of using AP to avoid the content. Why shouldn't people have the option to use gold to avoid that same content?

(And please don't tell me about it being a PvP zone and people should be required to do that content to be able to not do the other content...)

Many dlc dungeons have been nerfed alot. It's not hard to just run it to get the helm. 9 out of 10 pug groups can clear any dungeon these days. Just queue instead of waiting week after week for golden.

You assume I have the slightest interest in running dungeons, which I really don't, I despise dungeons in this game, they aren't fun at all for me. ZOS put a vendor in game to dole out the gear once a week, and I am more than happy to wait for a set I desire to come around. Yet most don't, ever.

Also, you forget the shoulders, which I have had take upwards of 70 keys to get one I need... that's a lot more dungeons I didn't want to be in, in the first place.
@Kwoung I'm going to assume 70 keys was a while ago? You can get a 50/50 chance on any monster shoulder at a cost of 5 keys, even if it ends up landing in a different weight.

Buying the 5 key coffers and having spent over 50, I still don't have every weight of Ilambris, and 70 keys or so in I still have only one weight of Bloodspawn. I literally got the wrong set in the same weight 5 times in a row trying to get the latter. Neither sets shoulders have been on the golden since I started playing a year and a half ago.

I loathe the undaunted coffer system, so much so I feel far less incentivized to do the dungeons for keys. If they're trying to drive more engagement, this is not the way.

The golden has been my relief for some things (like Balorgh), but it's starting to be the same old things for me after only 18 months playing. Random simply isn't good enough.

I think it would be cool if they made a weekly vendor for all monster helms but made the price so ridiculously high youd only do it if you couldnt get it otherwise.

Or have a weekly jewel vendor that you could only use 1x per 3 months or ridiculously overpriced but offers every amulet/ring for overland or dungeons or w.e

Have pvp or pve specific events which gave you access to the non-RNG golden vendors... perhaps with a lot of restrictions like one ticket per account for one item. Idk.

Lot of interesting things you could do with these type of vendors without making the game worse.

Kinda just throwing ideas around. Dont take me too seriously please
