Bar swapping with ultimates, such an meteor and destro

Quick question regarding this scenario.

I have meteor or destro on the backbar.

The tool tip is higher if it's on my front bar but in this situation it's my backup ultimate.

Then I activate it, is the damage locked in using the back bar stats or does it instead even I bar swap to my higher damage front bar?

I'm sure someone will have the answer quite a few study damage and the maths / mechanics.

I think it depends on the type of damage too. I.e. if I recall the cast takes the trait etc you have when casting. But if the damage thing lingers or DOT it may be different.

Unsurefor meteror the difference between casting on back and landing on front bar etc

I cant recall so am not much use. But am sure someone will.

It should be easy to test on a dummy. Do one that does not crit without swapping bars and see what the report says the damage was. Repeat with a bar swap and again, without it criting, and comparing the reports. A crit should be obvious since it will be much larger than what is expected.
