.. you return to TESO after a long break and have TESO support restore a deleted character. Choosing between two similarly named characters, one who is level 50 and one who is level 3, they chose the level three character. EVEN when the form I filled out to restore the character had me spell the exact name and put his level(50).

Then they email you making you fill out the information a SECOND time(that he is level 50). And the dude restores the level 3 character. Thanks a lot [snip]! I guess I'll open a new ticket, because you hate your job....

I guess returning to the game wasn't meant to be lol. They can restore low level characters on my account, just not the level 50, because they "Can't find it". But they can find all the low level characters with close to the same name apparently. (Odd? lol)

If it's been a long time since you played are you sure you are correctly remembering which name went with each character? Especially since the names were similar.

Meh, if you deleted it, its presumptuous to assume it could ever be restored. You can level a character to 50 in an evening if it really means that much to you.

Why does everyone act like it's the process of leveling people have a problem with? The character could have had achievements or items on them, or be important in some other way that has nothing to do with the level itself. Yes, it would be bizarre for someone to delete a character that has anything valuable about them like that, but you never know why people might do something.

I agree that it's a bit odd to think a character that's been deleted for a while could be restored, but you don't know what might have been on that character that makes them the one that OP wanted restored. It could simply be that it's because they're already max level, or it could be anything else.

When I came back I had re level abilities that were fully leveled before. Hope it's OK to rant a little too. I feel better now.

My presumption, perhaps inaccurate but reasonable in this context, is that if you deleted the character, it didn't have items or achievements you are worried about. If it was deleted by mistake, you wouldnt wait to act, you would do it immediately. The concern here seemed to be about the level because that is all that OP mentioned. And to that I say, leveling a character is trivial.
