I do sometimes wonder if it's supposed to be a sub-game that nobody talks about: The Inventory Management Online. It's second only to Riding Simulator in Cyrodiil.

Wait until you play TES:Arena. That game had the most crippling inventory management of all, since there was a limit on the number of items you could carry (although potions of the same type did stack together), as well as a limit on the amount of weight carried.
The moral of the story is that inventory management has always been a pain, in every TES game, and always will be-- although I suppose TES5:Skyrim broke the mold in that respect, since you can carry as much as you want if you don't mind walking in teeny-tiny steps.
