"Random" BGs are broken, still give nearly all Deathmatch

And the reason this happens: the queues are combined, so that if you get 1 person in the "Deathmatch" queue and 11 in the "Random" queue, then the game will create a Deathmatch so as to be able to populate it with all 12.

Get this: MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE DO NOT WANT DEATHMATCH ALL THE TIME.

But the way it is currently being done, even if Deathmatch was the LEAST popular of the modes, even if only 10% actually wanted Deathmatch, you would get 70% of Battlegrounds being Deathmatch.

If Deathmatch were the "most popular, but not by much" - say, a reasonable figure like 40%, which might be "more popular than any one of the other modes, but not more popular than all of them put together"... you'd get literally over 99% Deathmatch, which is what is observed to be actually happening.

Please fix your calculations so that the people who want a Random can have a TRULY RANDOM - that is 20% chance of each mode (DM, Domination, Crazy King, Chaosball, Capture Relic)!

(There is another thread on this somewhere, but NOT in the Bug Reports forum, and the way it is currently being handled is clearly a bug - it surely cannot be intended that 99% of BGs are Deathmatch, when it isn't 99% of the actual *players* that are choosing the Deathmatch queue rather than the Random one, but Random choosers are being forced to populate only Deathmatches by being grouped up with people who only want Deathmatch.)

It is not calculations but that those choosing a random are filling matches created by those choosing DM.

Well, that's what's wrong. The random queue and the Deathmatch queue need to be *truly* separate, so that only people who choose Deathmatch fill the deathmatch queue, and when the Random queue fills up to 12 people, it creates a match which has a 20% chance of being any of the five types of game (including Deathmatch).

Man, I was so happy when they brought back the other games. DEATHMATCH AND THE OTHER GAMES NEED TO BE COMPLETELY SEPARATE. i can't believe they haven't figured that out yet lol wtf... Why isn't there DEATHMATCH ONLY and ALL OTHER BGS... Like, really? If i wanted DM i would queue for it specifically. Stupid af.

Please separate the queues. I am tired of being cannon fodder for the Deathmatch crowd.

The biggest problem is calling it random when it isn't really random at all. It's confusing to players when what it actually means is you're backfilling for anyone that has chosen a specific, non random queue.

For dungeons, it can still feel as though it's random. There are loads of potential specific choices that you would be filling for. You get the appearance of random even if it still isn't actually fully random.

For the latest BG queue, there is only one specific option to choose from. Random isn't even remotely random on any scale that might even sort of fool the player into thinking it's actually random. You either fill in for a deathmatch or if you happen to get 12 people to all queue for random in an undisclosed timeframe, you will all potentially queue for an actual random BG. That time limit might be as low as 0 seconds or as high as a few minutes. We don't know and ZOS never told us.

If ZOS understood that what players define as "random" is very different than the ZOS definition, they could have saved a lot of the negativity. Yes, we'd still be in the position we are now, but without the illusion that we were ever actually getting something that is really random.

they have already announced in one of the threads in the BG subforum that they are reverting the queue stuff back to the "only random" option we had prior to all the queue tests

it said this would happen on the next major update (and would be the last change for the forseeable future, probably until they finish the rearchitecture stuff)
