I think it would be nice to have a general chat forum here, we had the Beth one for the beta and it is pretty normal to see one. The CS forum should not be used for general chat but where else do we go?
I can't post a poll on this board so just +1 if you think it is worth seeing I guess.
So if you want to share a review, big up a general build, talk about PvE or PvP in general, list your top ten loved (or hated) monsters (or bosses)- things you want a wider audience for then the 5 people reading the appropriate sub-sub-sub-forum then post here... and then watch it get closed or ignored by ZOS

But then this has been asked for about a hundred times already. Evidently, it's beyond their current abilities to log into their forum control panel, type "Add Category", fill it in with "General discussion" and click "Apply".

No one can post there. They have to post in a subforum of that.
Some times you want to generally talk about the game, and none of those sub forums fit that. The skill line subforum is also just terribly laid out since a lot of the times you don't want to talk about skill trees but builds.
Alliance war isn't even split up like you would expect, into a alliance war server subforums, but as a general catch all. This is just weird design all over the place.1 -

Well, in the sense that they're a business, and a "decision" would need to be made to add it, yeah, I... guess. What could they possibly do that isn't a business decision? Is that supposed to be some kind of excuse, or rationale, for it not having happened?
The aggravating thing is, unlike many other improvements that people suggest, it's unlikely that there's any resource or technical thing preventing it.
It hasn't been done simply because they haven't "decided" to do it.
Which makes it all the more annoying and insulting. Too many people have asked for such a simple thing for them to put it off so long, at the expense of the usability of this community forum.

Not really, a business decision typically involves a Business plan and a budget, this isn't the case for adding three forums. ✭✭✭✭✭It is highly unlikely that they created these forums and just forgot about a general discussion area. It is very likely that the idea was considered and rejected. If that is the case, they need to decide whether to change that decision.
Remember that we are not talking about a General forum. We are talking about three General forums. We are talking about ZOS employees that will have three more forums to monitor. We are talking about forums that will tend to generate more forum traffic, more off topic discussions, more enthusiastic disagreements, and more work.
