Vampires Bane & Magelight - does spell critical stack?

Hiya!

If I use Vampires Bane and also have Magelight slotted, they both give Major Prophecy. Does that mean I get double the spell crit chance?

If I switch bars (both are no longer slotted) does I lose the effect - Vampires Bane does damage over 14 seconds - is that now gone?

No, buffs of the same name do not stack!

Major and Minor Prophecy can stack, but you can't stack 2+ versions of Major Prophecy or 2+ versions of Minor Prophecy. Bar swapping to a bar without Magelight on it does mean you lose the Major Prophecy from Magelight since it's no longer active. Same with the Max Magicka boosting it gives due to the Guild's passives and stuff.

Also be careful of status effects because a lot of them have named debuffs on them, which can have some overlap with your active abilities.

List of Status Effects with debuffs:

Chilled - Caused by Ice Damage and applies Minor Maim reducing target damage by 5%.
Concussed - Caused by Lightning Damage and applies Minor Vulnerability increasing target damage taken by 5%.
Diseased - Caused by Disease Damage and applies Minor Defile debuff decreasing target healing received by 8%.
Hemorraging - Caused by Bleed Damage and applies Minor Mangle reducing target maximum health by 10%.
Sundered - Caused by Physical Damage and applies Minor Breach decreasing target physical and spell resistance by 2974.
Overcharged - Caused by Magic Damage and applies Minor Magickasteal which restores 168 magicka per second to players dealing damage to the target.
