My "work from home" computer station is against on outside wall of a somewhat older home. On cold windy days, you can feel a bit of a draft of cold air under the desk. My wife got me some heavy duty socks and a small, portable space heater to place under the desk.

    Joy.
From giving gifts both in-game and IRL.
I got stuff in both too, some pretty cool things actually.
IRL the big thing is a new gaming laptop (BADLY needed lol) Also took a day trip with family touring some historic areas here and got to fire black powder muskets! *BOOM*

In-game I got lots of SNOW! :D And many other goodies and surprises the generosity of which is still blowing me away <3

But the thing that made me smile the most, STILL making me smile, was seeing\reading how happy ppl were getting something they wanted :)

We lost Dad earlier this year from pancreatic cancer so this was the first holiday without him around and honestly I wasn't sure how I'd feel.
I miss him but also feel happy at the joy I helped spread, I think this has been one of the best holidays ever <3

    I got covid.

I would have rather gotten coal.

    Thanks! I hope so too.

I asked Santy Claws for Stamwhip, but no luck. Socks would have been good too, or an ugly sweater, or anything really, or nothing at all. But here we are.

Like @Tenthirty2, I got a lot of joy this season out of gifting things in game. I love having the chance to share with new and old players alike. I always remember how generous people were to me at this time of year the first year I played even though I had very little to give in return. Now, as an established player, I can give to others the way they gave to me. Reading how excited people are about their gifts warms my heart.

I also received many amazing things from the eso community that I will be forever grateful for. So many of you have made it possible for me to complete building projects and characters that were previously out of my reach <3

IRL I received some amazing gifts from my family. I collect action figures, statues, dolls, and lots of things. So one of my favorite gifts this year was a collectible action figure of Goliath from the old TV show Gargoyles which I loved as a child. He's very detailed, has a huge wingspan, and is just everything I wanted him to be. The coolest part to me is that long ago, when I was a kid, I also received a Goliath figure for Christmas who was much loved and played with. So it was like getting a brand new "grown up" version of an old favorite.

But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives

Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause

Likewise, and notwithstanding how enjoyable ESO is, it doesn't quite compare to watching the look of wondrous excitement on the face of a 4 year old as he opens his presents  !

I got a case of 6 coffee mugs which are backups of my all-time favorite mug, in case mine breaks (because I had 2 and one broke already, and I was upset because the store didn't sell them anymore, so my hubby went online and found them for me - how sweet is that).

Thats one reason they hung tapestries on the walls of castles.

You might look into it to help your immersion.

When you get older, socks are more appreciated. There is nothing like going into the new year with fresh socks that aren't thin from 20 washes.

    Don't underestimate socks.

My gift was my daughter's survival this December with a diagnosis, hasty surgery, and recovery from a cancerous tumor on her liver. Hopefully the blood tests will show no sign of any more cancer over the next months, but since this is the 3rd surgery in a year...it better be gone!!!

Oh yes, there is much wisdom in what you write. I received a new pair of socks, underpants, pen, wallet, belt, scarf, gloves and a hat. I love each of these gifts because there is nothing better than practical gifts that I will use every day. Each of these gifts are chosen for me, someone must have thought about what I will need and what will fit me, I just love gifts like this.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.
