Give everyone permanent speed boost already

So, I've been around the starter zones and it just pains me to see how slowly the new players move around. Call me a sap but I genuinely feel sad for them, not being able to get around to places more quickly. I understand that there is a "discovery" part of ESO but this is just too painful to watch. ZOS, just give everyone a permanent speed boost instead of forcing people to go into pvp and reach level 3 in Assault. All new players have no idea what I'm talking about when I whisper them about it. Save the people time so they can enjoy other parts of the game more.

Please do NOT force this on us.

I don't want more speed and purposely avoid the ring and skills and champion points that give them. Running around at warp speed feels rushed and frantic and completely ruins my enjoyment.

The game is warped when I run faster than they ride if I wear Ring of the Wild Hunt. It both feels wrong and IS wrong.

[snip] The time it would save new players to enjoy the rest of the game is significant. I wonder how demoralizing it must be to watch someone RUN faster than they ride.

Been there. Done that. It's not demoralizing at all.

Sheesh.. they just changed it so simply completing the Welcome to Cyrodiil quest pretty much grants you a permanent 30% buff for all of 5 minutes effort... how much easier can it get?

    This.

There's absolutely no need for fast speed at low levels, and the only reason the standard speed for those levels looks slow is because it's coming from the perspective of a high level player with all speed bonuses maxed out. I also wouldn't over-estimate the number of players who feel forced "to go into pvp and reach level 3 in Assault".

Gift them an adept rider crafted set. It grants major gallop and major expedition as its 5pc bonus. Can be worn at level. I use it on all new characters until I get assault line ranked. It requires just 3 traits researched so it's an early one.

I really doubt that many players are watching others to see how fast they are moving, or feel demoralized if another player runs past them. Not everyone wants to rush around at max speed, but there are skills and Champion points and a ring for those who do. There is no reason to force this on everyone.

Do you really expect me to spend all my time crafting items to hundreds of players? I'd rather stop playing the game then since it would be completely pointless.

Seriously though, if ZOS hands you everything, what's left to earn? Guilds, friends, a 3 second Google search can all tell you how to run / ride faster with little effort. Also keep in mind, they are not about to ruin their mount speed sales in the Crown store, which I suspect is one of their best selling items.

I don't expect anyone to do anything. Just pointing out the options. you can just recommend the set. Just want to point out that since this set is available that it is an option for speeding up newer players.

I use it all of the time on new characters on low cp accounts.

There are a lot of things new players don't know. For me, discovery and figuring out what to do is half the fun.

Helping other players, new or otherwise, is commendable. But if some stranger whispered me telling me how they think I should be playing, I would politely tell them to stop.

wow, you learned me something, I had never heard of this set before, and as much as I spend time in summerset too lol

    thanks!,

now getting back to the topic, not everyone wants to run around like roadrunner, some of us actually want to take in the scenery, and stumble upon new areas, I admit the slow mount was a bit frustrating as a new player but I expected I had to pay my dues

the constant bombardment from the dlc quest givers was more of a problem for me

Why do they need to experience everything RIGHT NOW? This game is a journey. We're not playing a 4hr CoD campaign.

I think it might be nice if the base mount speed were a bit faster but still cap out at the same maximum amount at the end of training. Basically squish the level grind a bit. When I can sprint faster than my horse, it just doesn't feel right.

I do agree that recent changes to help new players including easier access to sets like Adept Rider and Continuous Attack are a step in the right direction.

    I agree with this.

If new players are getting frustrated with their running/riding speed and want to know how to go faster (and I mean the new players themselves, not someone deciding on their behalf that they should feel frustrated) maybe ZOS could do more to make them aware of the current options but I really wouldn't want it to be something forced on everyone.

It's an MMO, if you're going to play it properly then you're going to be playing it for a very long time. There's no need or benefit to rushing through it as fast as possible and being forced to play like you just want to get it over with all the time would just be annoying.

    Exactly.

Go there at level 10, do the little siege quest, get two skill points and speed boost for your mount.

    It's super easy.

There's a reason the starter maps are so small.............

What I am saying is - NOT NEEDED.

If anything I think the game needs to slow down some and teach more things at a slower pace. This is in fact what the new tutorial was created for.

Yea, why not unlock straight all 3600 CP and every skill line.

What's the point of playing and progressing anyways

    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

You just need to do the 1st quest in Cyrodiil (the tutorial) and don't skip any part to reach level 3 in Assault.

Which has basically no PvP in it. Teleport around, learn how to use Siege Weapons, visit the Elder Scroll temple, and that's about it I think.

Unless you're super duper unlucky and you visit while the scroll temple is under attack it's a zero risk mission.

For new players, I'd like ZOS to change mount training to give one point in each category each day for 250 gold. Its absurd that new players need to do a minimum of 6 months of training to get an upgraded mount. They fixed the need to train individual mounts so I'd like to see this changed next.
