Haven’t seen or heard anything. Feels like necro was ages ago. Have there been plans for a new power set announced down the pipeline to look forward to?

As in no new classes ever? Has there been an official statement either way on this issue?

Deadlands would have been the perfect setting for a Daedric Cresent skill line... Feels like a wasted opportunity to be honest.

I only want a new class if they handle it better than Warden or Necro, and make classes more distinct than them just having different colors and skins. I wouldn't mind a new weapon skill line or an expansion to existing class skills, but I feel like they cannot do it if they haven't by now. I absolutely do not want to see another passive skill line like Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, or Antiquities, there's already too many non-combat skill lines. Companions are lukewarm content.

They haven't mentioned anything new for combat though and while the studio director's letter about 2021 and the year ahead seems frank about their struggles, its message about what's to come in 2022 is not exactly comforting either.

I hope we don't get a new classes for at least another two years. New skill line I'm fine with, but ZOS has to get all the classes playing nicely together before throwing in a 7th.

New skill lines/powers/vases typically come with the new Chapter, and we've been told we aren't getting any info on the new year-long story line until the new year.

I think we first found out we were getting Companions in January, IIRC?

Shouldn't be any new Class next year because they said no new game systems for a while. Being they said that at the start or middle of this year and they were already working on companions it obviously meant for next year.

No new classes or anything special is my guess for next year. Just story and if we are lucky maybe a couple of new companions.

I class new classes as a new game system because of all the new skill skills they would have to bring with them. Does not really apply for new companions because all they need to do for them is add in Quests for their back story. The only new thing would be just 1 skill for their ultimate, I am sure they can manage that.

I wish they would just do away with the "classes" and let you pick and choose your own 15 abilities from skill trees and make your own classes.

Otherwise, sadly no, regarding classes ESO has been stagnant in that department for a while now.

Some people don't care too much about classes, I am not one of those people, I feel that more classes = more fun. I do understand Balance is important, but if executed well, we can have both.

I don't know if I would consider a new class "a new system". Unless it has some really weird mechanics with its skills, I don't see it as being so alien that it would require the creation of a whole new gameplay system from the ground up.
Also, I don't know when that statement about no new systems was made, but unless it was from this year, companions and scrying/excavations are genuinely new systems, so, so much for that I guess.

In my opinion the game has come to a point where balance is so tenuous that I don't even care if a new class breaks it, I have come to terms with the fact that true balance is never gonna be achieved in this game, so to hell with it.
Plus I dread to think of another year with such a lack in content. This year was so bare-bones it almost made me want to stop playing, and that is after Greymoor, which came pretty close to being as bare-bones as this year. Also, not throwing shade on whoever worked on companions, as I'm sure it couldn't have been easy, and I appreciate the work of the artists, writers and programmers who contributed, but I'm sorry, they are not a feature you can base your chapter around. Hell, even Summerset and Greymoor felt like they gave us more stuff to do, this year we get two NPCs that follow us around and spit out a quirky (which becomes annoying in the long run) one-liner every once in a while. If that is the caliber of content that awaits us next year, I think a lot of people will be disappointed.

They don't really communicate anything like that. They just decide that they want us to have antiquities, companions, etc instead.
