Armory Station Improvement Requests

I like what they've done so far but I hope they don't walk away from it now that it's live.

I would like to formally request that the armory preserve the following as part of saved builds:

Mundus Stone Selection - I have a tank build and a DPS build. Mundus stone must be manually changed to optimize my build to the way it was designed

Dungeon/Group Role - The dungeon/group role (tank, healer, damage) must be manually changed and is not currently saved as part of the build.

I bet some of you have found other things I haven't discovered. Maybe we can get them all in one place?

How do people feel about outfit being saved as part of a build? I imagine they could remove outfit and replace it with one or both of your suggestions to minimize the UI changes that would be needed.

    That should be added also.

There are already addons for PC that will change your outfit/costume etc. based on the selected armory slot.

Seems adding more would be the way to go not taking away.

    EDIT for clarity:

@CyberOnEso made an addon that can handle "Skin, Hat, Costume, Mount, Non-combat pet, Polymorph, Personality, Hair, Body/ Face markings, accessories, and Title."

I see what you mean about not wanting to take things away, but why are outfits tied to the armory system? I've found it a touch annoying to have to reset my outfit to whatever I was wearing before after changing my build. It seems to me that the armory should only be for things that affect gameplay, not things that only serve cosmetic purposes.

OP's suggestions, for example. I would much rather the armory saved those things instead of my outfit.

It's a thing that's harmless and pretty useful.

My tank has a magdk light armor and staff-using armory build for questing out in the world. She would look silly and incongruous doing that in an outfit of tank gear - so now it switches between her outfits depending on what's appropriate for her current role.

I suspect those kinds of situations are exactly why it's there in the first place.

Do you know why the mundus is not changed? Because the demand for mundus stones bought into our homes would drop. Not gonna happen.

    Edit:
Of course I support this change. This and, for example, the addition of armory stations in the starting bases in Cyrodiil and IC.

I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

That's a good idea! I was thinking maybe an extra confirmation prompt, but this would be much preferred!

Please don't take away the option to change outfits with builds. It's much too easy to overwrite a build with another so having a unique outfit for each saves a lot of annoying accidents, as you can see at a glance what build is equipped.

It would also help a lot if there was something visible in the armory screen to say what the last equipped build was for this reason . Also I'd like a more definite confirmation step added for overwriting one build with another, like press this combination of buttons or a cooldown or something. A screen saying are you sure won't stop most of us clicking through, because you get that whatever you do anyway - it's always just click-click-done!

I'd actually like to see more cosmetic options saved with it, like mounts. There're no addons on console so it cuts down what we can use when it has to fit with 6 outfits, if you care about that sort of thing.

If I remember right they said they had technical issues with including mundus and it may be added in the future.

I can't believe you can't save roles with builds tho, I'd have thought that would be a basic requirement. I was going to spend out on another armory and outfit slot to give my magplar a healer build but maybe I won't bother now!

Yeah I just want the mundus stone saved, is it too much to ask? My house is a guild hall, the stones are not hard to walk to, but this still doesn't solve the issue. Want me to buy an armory assistant? Then make it save the mundus stone so I don't have to go to my house anyway, negating the entire point of having the assistant...sigh.

Actually, from what I remember from their stream and discussions on the PTS forums, they want to add Mundus but ran into technical issues and couldn't get it done for Update 32.

Lock a build, its too easy to over-write a build by accident.

That's a massive one. A lock function would be awesome. This has happened to me at least twice that I can remember, and both times it cost me like 15k gold in respec fees.

I think with Mundus there is a profit motivator in play. @Mayrael is 100% correct. They want people buying mundus stones for their houses, and this would certainly cut into those sales. Therefore, they should flip it on its head. Allow people to change mundi that they have purchased. Would probably increase sales. Of course I would prefer they just add them without charging, but it is ZOS. This at least makes it an option. (I am also biased because I own most of them)

Outfits to me are annoyance. I would just assume they remove them, but I can see RPers liking the feature.

Dungeon role wouldn't be a horrible idea either. I do have both DPS and healer setups on a few toons. My only possible pushback is you might get people queuing for the wrong roles by mistake, but likely not a huge issue. It could also cause issues if you want to switch mid run. I often queue as a healer, willing and able to heal. That said, after the first boss, I almost always ask if they mind me switching to full damage, and the answer is almost always a resounding yes.

I'm really of the opinion the Mundus Stone boost is not intentional. It couldn't be done for whatever reason by release.

Obviously I don't have sales numbers but of the folks I know on PCNA, very few of them have Mundus Stone furnishings for personal use.

Houses devoted to being 'guildhalls' tend to be the only ones that collect Mundus Stones, to the point it's basically an expectation for any moderate sized guild to have at least the common ones.

To my knowledge the Mundus Stones haven't been 'featured' or put on sale in the last three years at least, and the majority of players wouldn't be able to find them for purchase at the in-house buy-furniture screen as opposed to the normal Crown Store.

EDIT: If next week I see "Mundus Stones 20% off for ESO+ Subscribers 3 days only" in the store ... then I'll change my mind.

I've heard the 'technical difficulties' thing, and it's a pretty logical argument. It's been said that they couldn't get the Mundus to swap as well and it was buggy, so they just dropped it so they could still release the rest of the Armory. I haven't found a source, but neither have I found a source for "We didn't put Mundus into the armory because we're greedy."

I know everyone wants to believe that it's all money driven, but Mundus isn't saved for a character the same way as gear. In the character menu, it's stored as an active buff, not a gear slot. They had problems a while back with that regarding the Twice-Born Star set (which is also still not able to recall a second stone if you backbar that set) because it's stored as a buff and is lost when the set's gone, and then it can't come back without reequipping.

The Armory doesn't swap your food buff even though that's also essential to builds, so it makes sense that any non-gear buffs would need to be reapplied. Inconvienient, but understandable.

Now that's not to say that they won't ever be able to add it in (if they recoded Mundus to be more than just an active buff or something, which would also fix the TBS problem), but I doubt that ZOS being money-hungry is the root cause of that. It'd definitely be nice if the Armory could change Mundus, or had an attached storage so you didn't have to cart all of your builds with you, but I'll take the current Armory-without-mundus over no armory at all. I usually don't change on the fly so I know even if I'm swapping an entire build that I need to go eat the right food and pick up the right Mundus.

Kinda wish they would. I have all but 3, and it is 3 of the more useless ones. I would probably buy the rest if on sale, and certainly if I could use in with the armory assistant.

My house falls somewhere in the middle. It has been used as a quasi guild hall over the years, but never official. Doesnt see nearly as much use as it used to. It was more a training ground than a guild hall. It is setup with most mundus stones, lots of trial/target dummies, wells, transmutes, and all the basic crafting stations. I never took the plunge to get all the attuned crafting stations. I have a few friends that have, so could never be bothered.

I do think this was intentional, but who knows. Maybe I am overly cynical in my old age.

Not interested in using the system at this point. Many good ideas to make it draw my attention above. My biggest problem with it at this point is that it requires you to carry gear in your inventory instead of being able to draw it from your bank. Not gonna carry extra sets of gear around.

Definitely needs the mundus. If profit is the barrier, make it that if you own the mundus stone then you can slot it in an armoury build.

How about fixing the game-breaking bug that wipes the CP for build1 when swapping back to it from build2? Let's start there.

It might be something different, but CP config is saved for each build out. On the empty build out, try assigning just a few CP and then saving the build. Then switch to build two to see if all CP assigned, then back to one to see if it kept the ones you just set up.

I don't understand what you mean. I save build1 if any changes were made, equip build2, sometimes saving build 2 if I make changes, equip build1, and sometimes the cp are gone in build 1. I had to install a cp-saving addon to reassign my build1 cp points. This has happened multiple times.

For me, the perfect armory is a system that lets me build out sets, save them to the system, then access them from any character. Unfortunately, I think that is never going to happen.

I would love to be able to dress a handful of mannequins in my house. A character could walk up to them, and equip the loadout. If you wanted to make an assistant to sell that could tag a long and do it on the fly, even better. I just hate making duplicates of gear for alts, but I hate slagging gear between toons as much if not more. I can dream, but not going to hold my breath.
