Downtime: What do YOU do?

I get irritable like a baby left in a dooky filled diaper.

Since I am normally at work when the servers go down, typically I try to catch up on some work. Make new ads for CL and other free online classified sites.

I like to make mine with a modicum of humor, so part of my job ends up being looking at funny pictures of cars in accidents or what not. Or updating our website.

What do you guys do? Play another mmo? Play solitaire?

Oh. I also make borderline to completely off topic posts on the forums:P

I leave for work pretty much exactly when the servers go down. That said, they aren't down right now :P

Luckily I am either asleep or in work for most of the downtime but on those days that I am not I either play on the EU server and work on a character over there with EU server friends or I play other games or do chores if both servers are down.

I think you have not been on the internet long enough until you have been rick-rolled.

Lately, during downtime I PL my forum level.

However, for those who haven't read this anywhere else, the game is not actually down. The countdown to the end of the world was actually just a hoax played by some shock-jock radio personalities on the ESO players. :)

I am usually getting off duty and getting home when they go down….

Shower, dinner (breakfast for most) toss in laundry for clean uniforms, walk puppy, reply on forums and catch up on everything around the house. I have tablet in kitchen, when cleaning I can read forums and make my shopping lists.

It is cool ,wet and rainy today so cant cut the grass ( awww such a shame I am heartbroken)

ohh yeah and feed the puppy and kitty.. speaking of ... I should go do that

In Elder Scrolls Online you read books, exercise, learn new skills and advance them... so it is much like school. You also apply your skills to trades and go out in the world to make money, so it is like work. So you can just trade one experience for another.

    Plus, ESO is awesome. :)

I don't necessarily skip it, I just leave it to do while eating lunch or dinner. Most of my work comes from dealing with customer's problems, dispatching our drivers, the online work I can do anytime. And I go by the Star Trek engineers rule of thumb when giving estimates on work time. I add two hours so that when I finish early I look like a miracle worker.

It also helps to be in charge. My guys and gals here are solid workers. And they like to make it so I don't have to leave my office. Bless their little hearts:P

I trust them to do what they need to and most times I am just in the way.

    I'm a bit lucky I would say.

Standard server downtime begins at 10:00pm on AEST, so I either read, watch TV or sleep.

I usually watch tv, pester the wife, eat a meal, or play another game. Borderlands 2 is the choice of the month for my off-game.
  • disexistencenub19_ESO
I sleep for most of it, unless it is brought down unexpectedly. I then usually peruse the forums and look/think up build ideas. My character slots are going fast, I tell ya. =/

    ^this.
Also, have kids, so my window of opportunity to play is...well, it's not much of a window at all actually. More like a few holes punched into my cardboard box so I can breathe :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm sure when my son gets older he'll be a geek just like his dad. I'll have a personal questing buddy!

    I work from home.

Don't need to skip work when you are your own boss. I give myself time off for gaming.

I work four12 hour shifts, nights mostly , a week and every other weekend...not counting training or anything extra the army decides I should do..( never works out in my favor we are always short staffed at the hospital and I am the newbie lt who gets called first.)

but I have no kids..so free time is my time..I don't sleep more than 4 hours at a time. Sometimes 6 at most if I had an extra long shift.

I do however have many many nieces and nephews and when they come to visit their favorite aunt I put them to work farming mats...lol

Having maintenance twice a week means all the dishes in my house are actually clean at the same time twice a week! Hooray!

Kidding, mostly. I usually tackle a project around the house during downtime.

Even when the servers are up, I end up spending more time browsing the forums than in-game.

During downtime (downtime for me being when I'm not in-game or here on the forums), I'm either watching TV with the boyfriend, or playing Pokémon, doing laundry, prepping dinner, doing my schoolwork, or cleaning etc.
The moment you call someone stupid, or try to display your opinion as "fact", you lose all credibility.
