The reason I quit ESO is because there is no weapon variety for mages. While all other MMOs out there with ESO's long history and WITHOUT its unlimited funding keep updating their game and adding new weapons, classes, etc., all we get is more copypasta storylines and reskinned cosmetics.

As the OP correctly identifies, there is only one weapon choice for mages, and that is the destruction staff. Just ONE! There may be different flavours (ice/fire/lightning) but this doesn't change the fact that it's just one weapon line. Also it may seem that hybrid builds are viable but they are not, since the physical weapons restore stamina, not magicka.

I cannot really justify this active resistance to meaningful additions to the game... Every patch all sets are reworked and stuff is shuffled around, without making real additions to the game. We want 1h+rune and spell book weapons!
