Which Armor Set Should I use?

I am just finishing up what is shaping up to be my first (effective) build. The first character I ever did, was so poorly built (and I had so little skill) that I ran into bosses on the main quest that I could not take out without some kind of help.
Historically, I have been terrible at light attack weaving. With this build, I find it almost natural to do, but I still find myself occasionally struggling with resources. However, I suspect that will go away after I finish polishing my rotation up (which will likely include a heavy attack or two.
While I am planning on running a more group dungeons and possibly trials, knowing me, I will likely be trying to solo as much content as I can, just because I am a bit of an anti social in the game.

Skills
Front Bar Skills
Hardened Ward
Inner Light (slotted for passives)
Bound Aegis (slotted for passives)
Blockade of Storms
Crushing Shock
Ultimate
Absorption Field (used for the healing if I get low on HP)
Back Bar Skills
Critical Surge
Inner Light (slotted for passives)
Bound Aegis (slotted for passives)
Lightning Flood
Structured Entropy
Ultimate
Shooting Star (used for opener on large mobs)

I'm now to the point where I can solo most base game world bosses. I have built a skill rotation/combination that I really like and that seems effective. Now, I just have to get an armor set to go with it. Starting off, I will use crafted sets. From there, I may or may not switch to dropped sets (overland/dungeon or otherwise).
I have two Maelstrom's Lightning Staffs.
I have pretty much settled on crafting a set of Law of Julianos. I am debating on the other set I will grab. Right now, the options are
1. Hundings Rage (for the extra weapon and Spell Damage along with crit chance)
2. Kvatch Gladiator (for the extra damage when enemies are below 25%)
3. Spell Parasite (for the sustain in the five piece set)

I'm assuming magic due to you using julianos. If so, I highly recommend farming mother's sorrow in deshaan. Easy to get the jewelry and a small side quest there will get you a lightning staff to start.

Wow ... that is a lot of critical chance.
And technically, I did just finish filling my sticker book with the Deshaan sets so I could just reconstruct it and get the set right away either way.
    Officially added for an option.

Mothers Sorrow + Julianos are a classic, where Julianos is usually seen as a starter set.

It would be later replaced by Medusa for more crit damage (can be farmed in the dungeon Arx Corinium).

I personally see Medusa as "group" set. If you have a tank that taunts a boss, and a healer, you can focus on standing still and performing your rotation.
In solo content this is different. I personally end up using heavy staff attacks pretty often soloing worldbosses, and in this scenario I have better results with a set that increases staff attack damage instead of raising crit damage. So my favourite combination on mag sorcerers is MS+Torugs Pact. As it requires to know only 3 traits, it can be tested quickly.

Another option is to invest in increasing the magica pool. Increased magica will increase the damage of your skills.
The sets for this are Necropotence (Rivenspire overland) if you use a pet, or Crafty Alfiq from Northern Elsweyr (delves + daily quests reward boxes).
These 2 sets are like Medusa good choices, if you can keep up a rotation, as they benefit your spells, not the staff damage. I think Medusa currently is the better choice, though.
