100% this would be a great improvement. Nearly all the shoulders look stupid with robes.

Not just hide shoulders. I'd love to be able to hide hands and waist as well!

100% - Most outfits and styles are ruined by large clunky shoulder pads that do not connect to the body. It's terrible.

I think being able to hide faulds and front/back fabric flaps should be more important than hiding shoulders.

It’s possible to find a fitting shoulder piece for an outfit, than a whole different chest piece without faulds and flaps.

Please, and some closed ankle shoes would be really great too as the options are basically sandals or knee-high boots.

Nah shoulders are the worst offenders, at least flaps attach to your body while shoulders do not.

Totally agree with this, I think shoulder pieces just look so awkward or off on many outfits in general. The option to hide them is long overdue.

THIS! People have asked for this (including myself) since I started playing the game back in fall 2018. Why this very simple addition to the outfit system hasn't been made until this day is beyond me... it's a big meh as I put a lot of time and effort on outfits. Since I can't hide the shoulder piece in the first place, I always try to get the most discreet shoulder pieces, especially for my mage characters. It can be quite annoying to deal with honestly. Anyhow, I agree that ZOS will be loved forever if they make this happen :)

It's amazing how many shoulders of the same armour set just do not suit the tops at all.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I saw once some screenshot, i think from some beta maybe, and there was option to hide all.
So i really dont understand why cant hide shoulders.

Would love that. Am used to have it in GW2 and miss it very much in ESO. One of the main reasons why I use costume only.

All they have to do is add ONE motif with invisible shoulders. Just like the orc belt is invisible. Make up some flavor text that Percius Loche did a Collab with the Mage's Guild (PL x MG) to create functional, invisible shoulders. Or that he had a manufacturing mishap but they were inexplicably popular among the fashionable citizens of Tamriel (us) so he decided to sell them anyway. The devs can even make it a snarky joke if they go that direction.

    Just. One. Motif.

Why can't my character take off her shoulders if she wants? Or her tassets or crotch flaps? Most of these are already unattached and just hovering around her anyway.

True fact: Players want their characters to look good.

Another true fact: Shoulders and tassets and crotch flaps don't look good.

at this point i doubt they'll ever fix that, it was a horrible design choice made early on that they seem to keep doubling down on. but gods, it would be great if they'd someday decide to scrap all that, nobody likes it. or at least make them actually connect to the body!
old thread (no the information is not out of date- i wish it was!) where i griped about this years ago.

These requests have been around since launch. I really don't understand why they haven't been implemented. It's not like it would negatively affect gameplay, but it would increase player satisfaction. Happy customers are paying customers.

Here is a thread I started in 2014 asking to remove tassets.

Has ZoS ever stated why this hasn't been implemented? So many other mmo's do it, i don't see why this would be an issue.

Every few weeks this topic comes up again and every time I see it, I add my name to it in the hopes that one day it will get implemented. Clearly it's a wanted feature. Please let's see it happen soon.

I feel like the refusal to acknowledge this request is being obstinate. I guess I get it. The designers and devs spend a ton of time on the armors and it doesn't feel good when your player base criticizes your design and development choices on a monthly basis. Kind of like the never-ending call for Stam whip was met with a passive aggressive patch note and a fix that didn't really address the issue. Some requests/complaints might be taken not as constructive criticism from people who love the game, but as an attack on the existing status quo/ the devs ideal of the game.

It makes some sense as I'm sure you get protective about something you've spent so much effort on...but this is probably the most popular, constant request that would also be easy to implement. As per my post of getting a single motif/style page for invisible shoulders vs removing tassets because they're a part of the established, overall chest design. I don't understand the total silence from ZOS on the issue when the forum is the exact opposite, with new requests every few weeks, for YEARS.

I've always believed they add the awful crotch flaps because most leg styles are so poorly done they need to be hidden.

I don't really see a good reason why they couldn't add hide options for all slots, except maybe legs and chest. When half the game is running around in bathing towels, what harm could it do - and would add a lot more outfit diversity.

The thing is, shoulders are universally hated by many players in every single MMO that has them. Knowing this, why didn't ESO include this option from day 1?

Some players like shoulders and tassets and crotch flaps, and they can still choose to show them, so the designers' work will still be used by those players. But many of us don't.

All we are asking for are options for our characters to look how we envision them.

I'd like to be able to hide shirt and pants too ;3

Actually tho, the best that can be done for shoulders are the Honor Guard shoulders.

    Hope this helps.

Hmmm, I don’t know, the sight of bare arms may offend someone’s sensibilities 🤣

PS - But isn’t the right to bare arms a constitutional right?

good idea. a lot of mage builds will look better with no shoulder. only so many good shoulders for mages and wizards

i also think the weird things hanging off the sides of the legs are not so nice

Some of the crotch flap is a bit of an eyesore... I wouldn't be mad about shoulders more than the flaps due to the fact that the flaps connect to the body while most shoulders do not.
