- Increase the number and frequency of these items that drop from nodes, mobs and containers
- Make these obtainable from writ turnins
- Make these drop from surveys
- Decrease the amount of these needed to craft an item

Funny I have plenty. Everyone speed running through the game. When I do a dungeon with the speed run community, I go back and open all the backpacks, crates and sacks.
When I enter and public dungeon and that guy chain pulling 20 to 30 mobs at a go. I go behind them and open the backpacks, crates and sacks. When things respawn. I kill things. I have lots of the supplies people keep yelling are in short supply.

I open everything I see and harvest nodes when I am out running around, yet I still only have a fraction of what I will need to furnish our new free house. These will be eaten up very quickly.

It's a notable home. Should you be able to fill it up in a week's worth of work? Also, Zeni has given us the Armory System. Making a gathering / crafting build. I often get 3 Heartwood on a gather. I have gotten 10 resources off a single node.

This is not only good for the people going out of their way to farm and sell these mats for a source of income, but also encourages housing enthusiasts to get out there and make some gold from other sources in order to afford their hobby. And that's good for the game, gold exchanging hands is healthy for any MMO. It creates a sort of disconnected cooperative play where two players who would never interact with each other due to having completely different interests and play styles are able to indirectly support each other's preferred activities by way of supplying each other with the tools they need to accomplish their goals. This is an integral part of the MMO ecosystem.
I know most won't agree with this assessment. For reference I'm speaking as a housing enthusiast and buyer of housing mats, never a seller. So I understand where the OP is coming from, but I also know without those expenses I wouldn't have nearly as much use for all the gold I accumulate, and so would be far less motivated to do a large number of the things I do in game, and would get bored with it much faster.
That said, a small chance of them dropping from their related surveys I think would be fair and healthy. I think we could all use a bit more motivation to bother doing surveys instead of just letting them accumulate.
I expect inflation is out of control because demand is outstripping what players are providing. Like any other crafting matt, the idea is for more players to get busy farming matts to sell or use for themselves. As such it is unlikely Zenimax will, or even should, make it easier to get such matts.

The price of other crafting mats vs housing are completely out of line with each other. They obviously should. Housing players shouldn't be forced to have little every single thing they do be expensive, unlike every other activity in the game
The plans and homes are already expensive enough, and the nicest furnishings also require gold and purple mats, the basic housing mats shouldn't also be this expensive.

The only way this will be fixed is either by
