✭Aren't games for "personal enjoyment"?
They are. The only people who need to be concerned with meta are people going for extreme world 1st competitions. I accept that for those few players (less than 1% of the population), that behavior is actually enjoyment for them.
For the vast majority of players however, having almost any set that is keyed to your build fully golded will NOT be holding your group back in any meaningful way, so this is just silliness.
The difference in DPS between a "meta" set and a "pretty good" set is generally less than 10%.
Meanwhile the difference between a person with a 100ms or less ping vs a 300ms or more ping alone can be greater than that, and the difference between the average person who just plays without reading any guides or practicing vs. someone who knows fights and a basic rotation for their class and is willing to work as a team is closer to 30% or more.
Meta chasing by non-meta players is a form of self punishment by setting unrealistic goals for the content they engage in. It ends up sabotaging their enjoyment of the sort of content they would naturally seek and burns them out chasing a form of "keeping up with the Jones'" in their leisure time.
As if we don't see enough of that in our lives as it is.
The old saying "stop and smell the roses" would seem to apply. If people spent more time doing what THEY find enjoyable and less time worrying about what some internet meme personality TELLS them they should find enjoyable, there would be a lot more enjoyment in the world, and a lot less people would burn out on games doing things they hate because they "have to."

✭✭✭✭✭How is everyone liking everyone regardless of setup running the exact same Bah/Kinra now? Seems like Diversity in classes and specs are Dead now
this makes no sense to me. people say "now there is only one meta bis build" but last update there was already only 1 BiS setup. stam dps wasn't a thing, so as far as i can see it's situation normal?
What exactly has changed?
Stam DPS still exists and still runs hard content once you get past the pervasive idea that its easier running all mag so stam aren't welcome
Previous to this patch and the previous patch, stam dps were not welcome because of the lack of pen on stam required dedicated support which took away from the overall group support.
Thankfully this is no longer an issue and I'm looking forward to getting some trials time with my stamdk.0 -

Stamsorc running Rele + Grisly + Selene.
Does well for our group composition on dungeons.
Have not taken it to trials and is likely that I won't because we already get buffs aplenty from support players and I already have Berserking Warrior anyway.0 -

Have not taken it to trials and is likely that I won't because we already get buffs aplenty from support players and I already have Berserking Warrior anyway.
I run it overland/dungeons as part of the theme of my superhero character who is a baker by day, superhero by night alongside dark convergence. Good fun and still get decent enough deeps to not worry in dungeons. I don't wear it in trials thoughSoupy twist1 -

If you need to be full meta constantly, That says more to me about your skills than anything else. Im still up there in trials with my meta friends in my memey vamp lord magplar rp combo I am demanding better customer service from Zenimax Studios.

Don't you know it's impossible to do high dps unless you are in a parrot'd build forcefed?!

The OP is the usual watches too many videos/reads too many articles and doesn't play enough game. This forum is full of them. Too many people paying heed to builds that are built for etching out every last point for leaderboard scores, when in reality most don't even go after leaderboard scores.
That mentality has always baffled me. People in game banging on about it and they're never even on the leaderboards. any leaderboard. But they must have the new crazy or they're hobbling their Fungal Grotto runs.2 -

With sets procing now I think many options have opened up. I am currently running three sets. One for trials, one for hard solo and one for "mobs dies in 5 seconds" dungeons. It also means I can try the new oddball sets. I have a reason to use all the transmute crystals I have stashed now.
