✭I've had just one drop after 2 days. There are some fragments that drop that you can use immediately and don't take up space in inventory.
I dislike the ones you need to keep until you get all 10. At this rate, I won't have 10 by end of event so will need to either delete them and start over next year or put them in a chest with all the other "I'm sure I'll get enough by the time the decade ends" fragments.3 -

Ruhlf✭✭✭I got two on the first day - and not a single one since. None from gold or purple plunder skulls, which I do every day - including the three purples from the daily. Not a single drop.
I thought maybe I should try writs. Did four today - no drops. It’s very strange.1 -

I've only gotten 3 so far! And I run 5 gold boxes daily and 20+ purples a day.
At this rate I won't be close to getting the pet this season.
These are supposed to be fun Holiday drops. We really should be able to get enough during the event through normal play.

They are tradeable, and a lot (a lot) are on sale at guild traders on PC NA.
Some people get almost none, others are getting a ton. More brilliant "rng" seeding on display I think.

✭✭✭✭✭As of yesterday I only had one bonedust so I went to buy 9 at the traders...except I ended up with 7 extra which I had to sell to recoup my costs.
I got another today which I gave to a guildie and will give away the rest.
The event is supposed to be fun and not a gold sink for everyone to get the goodies.
I am constantly amazed that someone like me who has a ton of free time to play is unable to farm enough for myself. I feel sorry for those who only have a few hours a day to play, that’s why I give away event stuff.

Even after opening countless golds and purples, so as a test I hopped on the Alik'r train for about an hour and a half or so.
Ended up with roughly 40 purple skulls. Commenced to opening...

In the almost 8 years of playing this game, I've never seen the RNG this bad.
I wont be partaking in the rest of the event.

✭If you can get a few folks together to spam queue Fungal Grotto, you can get 5 skulls in under 5 minutes per run. I ran this for a couple hours over the course of the event so far and it's netted me the dog and bonus pigments.
It seems like an unfortunately low drop rate, but if you can farm even half an hour here and there in FG1, it's quicker than other methods.PC NA

FG1 is in no way faster (even using the waterfall route) then the Alik'r dolmen train. You can't pull more skulls faster then running that train.
Makes no difference though, with the sad drop rates they've coded for these things this event.
Sadly, most will resort to traders (like I did) or have guildies with better RNG gift them.
Cute pupper, glad I got it. Just sad I couldn't get it through normal gameplay.
