I've gotten three or four as of yesterday. As for combining, they can't be consistent with this. Sometimes they go into your collection, sometimes they hang in your inventory till you have the full amount. In this case it's the latter.

When they’re separate names pieces then they go into collections. When you need to collect ten of something, then it’s in your inventory. There are exceptions to this but as far as I know those are older items from before collections were a thing.

Grisly Mummy Tabby parts were not named but you could use them right away and it would keep count. They didn't take a slot in inventory.
