Gold bots taking the fun out of the Dungeons

Public dungeons are a waste of time except for the gold bots. It has been getting worse and this past weekend it seemed every public dungeon I have been in has been ruled by the bots and seeing them oddly phase in and phase out faster than we can click on everything needed to logout of a toon is just plain frustrating. It may just be me, but I have never experienced gold farmers actually impacting my game play. I certainly hope that the fix we are waiting on will put a huge dent into the bot issue.

Devs, just FYI, this is not your game anymore, bots control it.1 -
There's been some 100 threads about this before... they "are" working on it, and yes they "are" banning people over this... They can't catch them all in one go...The statement "if you put enough monkeys behind enough typewriters... sooner or later one will produce the works of Shakespeare" has sadly been proven utterly wrong by the internet...0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I know they are banning them but the numbers of bots are growing faster than they are being banned. This is more of a coding issue/change and maybe structure of certain aspects of the game that make it, or at least certain aspects, so easy for the gold bots. The only other aspect that can control them is have actual GMs managing it in real time instead of reactionary.0 -

Fantastic... you discovered an issue in the game, and this was not appropriate for the literally 100's of other bot threads.. because?

where was it stated OP could not post his thoughts? You seem to have mixed up the community giving an order and the community suggesting a more appropriate use of the forums.

everyone is part of the community, there are 3 of us here that said it's a known issue... currently you're the only one saying we need more bot threads for the sake of everyone getting a thread on it...

I am not concerned about those blowing off steam with "another bot thread" comment, after all, that is what I did with this post. I think we all have some steam built up with frustrations with issues in the game. Other than a F2P game, I have not seen so much exploit persist that was so obvious.0 -

Deconstructive trolling is still trolling, even if your doing it eloquently. Whats the point in YOUR OP, aside from making yourself look like you have too much time on your hands in regards to these forums?
And I'm tempted to make a post a day until the devs release this fabled 'fix' that should have been in the works since beta. Its not as if this is the first game to have bots in it, so there is no reason why the dev team should be so reactive as opposed to already having a plan in place.0 -

You realize that the bots are hacked accounts mostly right? They send you a link in the mail that you go to...they keylog your PC from that link, steal your account, put gold from another hacked accounts into the hacked acount, then go about their business.
It's the people that fall prey that haven't encountered bots before. It's not their fault so don't blame them. I swear half of this community doesn't even know how a bot works...Edited by taze222b14_ESO on April 29, 2014 3:19AM0 -

✭Do you? So where did they get your email from in the first place to send you a keylogger? From buying gold more than likely since you have to register and provide your email when you go to purchase...
And that is entirely not true in the industry of bots being hacked accounts....Most of the bots in WoW are just disposable accounts. I know this because last year I sold over 150 accounts to botters for the above game due to how easy and cheap it was to start up a new account. ✭@Giles you know I wasn't really attacking you. I like how this game is apart from the other MMOs. The public dungeons are cool. They remind me of the "Farming" that happen back in early Star Wars Galaxies before loot containers were nerfed.
All I was simply stating was if people had any personal integrity, we wouldn't need to change these "neat" in game features.0 -

Well I thought it was obvious... My OP was questioning the reason that requires another new thread as opposed to a post in 1 (or 10) of the many already available threads... Bots are not the only issue this game has.
Well I was stuck in a boring 9AM chem lecture on dynamic equilibriums and the effect of ionisation in concentrations, you know, 100mM of salt = 200mM of it's ions in an aqueous solution blaa blaa blaa, nothing too interesting... so yeah, I did have some time to waste.
