So, after accidentally making a useful set for the next patch, someone discovered the error and the new changes to the set have rendered it totally useless. I am failing to understand how anyone would think this is useful. It is obviously aimed at tanks, but capping resistances is not something we have issues with... So, who is going to use this set? PVP only, or is there some other kind of use I am failing to see here?
This is becoming a running joke now. Each expansion we get useful tank sets, which are then promptly nerfed in to niche-ville.

stefj68✭✭✭✭✭they changed the 12% mitigation to a 7779 armor buff when drinking a potion while in combat ... totally ruining this set for pve tanking

Avoranti✭✭✭✭✭Not only did they change it, but failed to mention it in the patch notes. Maybe that was an oversight but it seems someone still thinks players are struggling with resist cap. No, some scenarios of damage are so overtuned that the mitigation is needed. Maybe a dev can chime in with reasoning.6 -

✭✭I don't think 12% was too much. To get 100% uptime on the buff you would have needed to sacrifice 3 jewelry enchants and 3 jewelry traits.
It would have maybe been a niche set you could combo with argonian and clever alchemist but now I don't think the armor value is useful even for this type of build. Pariah is just better in every way.2 -

Any 5 piece set that is centered around giving armor resistances is unusable unless you have no idea what you are doing. The 33k resistance cap is way to easy to hit, most classes can hit it with major resolve and nothing more other than passives. Not to mention you can tank anything in the game with under capped resources fairly easily. This is why other sets that have the same 5 piece bonus theme are not used.2 -
