Is it just me or am I seeing something strange about the endeavours pricing for the radiant apex mounts? Was it the same for the Scalecaller ones?

    Gem Prices ..

    Ram 2500
    Senche 1200
    Death Hound 1600

    Seal Prices ..

    Ram 16000
    Senche 16000
    Death Hound 16000

Always been that way for all crates where you could buy Radiant Apex Mounts with Seals. 16,000 for any of them.

you don't add multi-threading and DLAA to a game that's on life support :D

I mean these crates looks bad, but I can see that they appeal to a different crowed then the last crates.

I've got a soft spot for anything that's gothic and decorated with roses so I adore the mount but I'll probably never end up getting it. The rose tattoos are nice, though.

Looked at the costume again. This one has 350 gems and it’s tiny bit tempting, but the thought of bowing to this inflation pricing system, and having to see this one’s reviled cousin, Pacrooti, gloating as he sits on that portable loo…. SAMMY SAYS NOOO.

I only like the butterfly clouds. So, I'm not going to buy any crates, just use seals. If I can get 4 clouds of butterflies by Christmas that will be fine.

I got one box as usual per season, and if I can I usually buy them with gold, and even though my RNG is mostly abysmal, I have fun opening a 15 pack, and potentially getting something cool, and stop there. But this season I was really sad to see they have put the costume and personality in the apex category, and of course that's a direct result of them adding the seals of endeavour feature. They basically want people spending their seals and gems fast, so if they want other items they have to buy more crates. Costumes were never that costly before, it's really disappointing. And given how the number of seals rewarded has gone down over time, we truly can never have ncie things.

The most beautiful things are bought with gems....Why do we need so many currencies ? Gems, seals, crowns, gold... Crowns are not enough for ZOS ?
Crates are a trap ... The cheaper items always come, and always one per crate. Enough with Pacrooti's grins.
Also if you buy a pack of 15 crates, at the end you'll be fooled with things of little value. It's always the same.
And if you get an item that you already own... you'll get so few gems instead... three times less than what you would have to use to buy the same item !!!!

That's not fair, not fair at all

Yes yes, people have been saying this every month since 2014.
The best crate contents, as usual, are all located in the 16 gem tier, namely the Chef's Kiss, 2 Thumbs Up and Fight Me emotes.

I got one of the clouds of fireflies. It's nice, but smaller than I expected for a 3600seal/100gem AoE furnishing.

Seeing a lot of ZOS staff snipping messages here. But outside of people being outright rude, are they really wrong in what they're saying? 400 gems for a costume/personality is a LOT, especially to the average non-whale player who doesn't have the time/money to spend. Dunno, just seems awful greedy to charge that much for a costume that'd be sold for about 1k crowns 3 years ago, and the personality for 800. Gotta keep those addicts hooked on the gambling machine though right?

[snip] The Daedroth and Colossus mementos are kinda neat but everything else is meh. Good news for my wallet.

So am I 'trapped in a predatory monetization scheme', when I see things on the shelves in stores or on Steam/PSN/etc, think they're not particularly enticing, and move on?

Or am I just a consumer?

    [snip]

(personally, the only thing in the new crates of interest is the swarm of fireflies furnishing. Shame it's as expensive as it is, I'd love to have several for large houses. Of course, I regularly think the same thing about Luxury Furnishing Vendor items that cost 50-100k gold. /shrug)

    [edited for bashing & re-quoting]

Just in case you weren’t aware of it, there is another firefly swarm for sale for Crowns in the furnishing tab, environment (purchasing from the decorating menu). Yeah, it’s expensive, but at least it’s Crowns and not Gems and it was an easier decision to buy last year when much less of interest to me was coming through the Crown store, and they do look nice! :)

And I agree with you regarding the Crown crates. If I’m not interested in what’s offered or the odds of getting it, I don’t buy. Simple. I liked most of what was in the Ayleid Crown crates so I bought quite a few and got most of what I wanted. I was not preyed upon or lured into buying or anything like that. It was worth it to me so I made my informed choice. I liked the spriggan polymorph but not nearly enough for it’s cost so I didn’t buy it. Again, simple. Know what you’re buying and what you can afford and only you can decide what is worth it to you.

That's a good thing to bring up, because costumes are something like 1-3k in the store, but this new costume is 400 gems... now imagine, how many crates you would need to buy in order to convert stuff to get 400 gems, so much more than 1-3k worth, right? And yeah of course that's assuming that you don't drop the costume anyway in those crates, but since it's now an apex reward, the rates for those are documented to be super low. So it's a good to bring that up for comparison purposes, because with all the layers of currency, it's easy to miss how much more expensive things really are when they go up for gems.

Interesting, I can now see how misleading this is. The crate I mean. Thanks. I posted a video of what is in them for people who don't own eso yet. There are a couple of interesting things, but nothing out of the ordinary for season. And oh, let me emphasize on "A couple of interesting things", they are very nice. Especially the Emotes. Good job Zen staff artisans.

That's the thing, I was fine with the mounts because they're aimed for the whales that will grind gems out for them either for collectionists' sake or because they REALLY want the reskin of the mount that came out 4 years ago, but to release a costume and personality for that same price as crown crate exclusives, with no way to purchase them outside of grinding 1 month+ worth of Seals or dropping a ton on crown crates?

Just doesn't sit well with me, and I've been a ESO+ sub since like... late 2015 lmao
