Vampire Visuals

Yeah just wondering if we could get better Vampire visuals, I am not really a fan of the current visuals I think the skin color is too drastic and looks way too bright when its at stage 4 giving it more of a neon glow because of just how white the skin is.

It would be nice if the skin colors were more relative to racial skin/fur color and more subtle at each stage maybe just have be less saturated and slightly lighter each stage.
I would also rather the eye color maintain similar look throughout the stages personally and adhere to the racial eyes.

I think the Skyrim vampires are way more aesthetically pleasing IMO were changes are slightly subtle.

The bat noses would also look cool at stage 4 almost like your Vampiric nature starts showing the more you feed. Maybe also give Vampire claws for the non Khajit and Argonian at Stage 3 to 4. Subtle changes like these will add a LOT in my opinion.

Honestly Skyrim Vampire Armor has also got really cool visuals would be nice if we got that at some point.
Halloween is nearly round the corner too, would be a perfect time.

If anyone has more suggestions/feedback feel free to share.

I actually kind of like the stage 4 vamp look. It's grown on me over time. But some of your suggestions sound pretty interesting too.

My biggest pet peeve with vamp visuals right now is the animation for Eviscerate and its morphs. It's absolutely ludicrous to see a big club bash type swipe with your staff (it doesn't look much better with a one-handed melee weapon either). What it should look like is what the icon suggests, a weaponless, open-handed, werewolf-like claw swipe, possibly with red claw streaks trailing your hand movement. Now that would look cool! As it is now, I can't bring myself to slot it because I can't stand to look at the animation.

They were going to change the skin on vampire with the rework but backed off from either an internal decision or the backlash of the blood effects, which were a bit overdone and unhideable but the skin itself looked nice. Also Skyrim and Oblivion appearances of vampires were actual physical changes of the character model, but in ESO they cheated and just made it a one size fits all skin. This is why it bleaches everyone and everything very white, even Argonians and Khajiit who traditionally kept their scale and fur color mostly intact.

The visual effects I'd really like changed are the Vampiric Drain ones. After you morph the skill it just doesn't look like a vampire ability anymore, and the colors are beyond blinding. Also the ultimate really needs something to make it look more vampiric. Hair or some kind of bat wings (think grievous twilight) would go a long way in to making it look less demonic and more vampiric.

Well it I suppose but the skin looks more zombie than a vampire to me. Each their own.

As for Eviscerate I totally agree! 100% with you on that! I took this screenshot of a Bloodfiend attack:

They could do something like that but with the red claw streaks!

Agreed. I'd also add that they should make the eyes of the Scion glow. Somehow, seeing pupils on that model just seems...wrong. Lol!

While we're on the topic of Vampire visuals, it baffles me why Vampires no longer get a blood splatter decal after feeding on enemies and NPCs - post-Greymoor it only appears after feeding on players, so you only get one chance to get your character messy per real time week, which is a bleedin' shame.

Was it done for performance reasons, I wonder? I can't think of any other reason (apart from being an unintended consequence of overhauling the Feed system) why that would be done.
I've unearthed the Legendary Antiquity of Mêlée Island and all I got was this stupid T-shirt!

That's a good one honestly. Yeah....this one is kinda weird as well. Not sure why they released it like that. It would have been nice if it was ironed out honestly on release.

I don't mind the complexion or eye colour changes, but yes, Skyrim handled it better. Give us growing fangs like in Dawnguard. And I absolutely agree with previous posters - make drain's morphs visuals more vampiric and less... whatever that ultra-wide orange is supposed to look like. Why orange? The base drain looks just as one would expect something vampiric to look like.
The animation on BfB turning in more of a werewolf-like swipe is also a good idea, it looks very clumsy the way it is now (but at least it's red).

Yeah I'd like Redguards, Dunmer, Argonians and Khajiit in particular to not be turned pasty white with the vampire overlay. Just add glowy red/orange eyes and long fangs. If not that, even something as simple as adding a passive skill you can spend a point in to turn off the visuals would be better than nothing. That way people who like their vampire look can keep it and those who don't can spend the point to revert to their original appearance. Not a perfect fix because it would, you know, require a skill point, but it would be something.

As as Vampire, I prefer to blend into society and do not want to display my secret publicly. Our Vampire appearances should only show when we are in combat or feeding.

No to the Bat noses, We are not ugly Volkihar Vampires, if anything we should look normal, maybe just have our eyes change but that is it, a Vampire who cannot blend into society fails as a Vampire.

Fair enough dude, its just there as a suggestion but I can understand why people may not like that option.
Only reason I included this is because some people may liked it that sorta thing.

Would be nice get various "skins" for vampirisms and werewolves. So we could get visuals for different strains. Like Volkihar, the Cyrodiilic strain that blends in perfectly, an updated one for Lamae's (That doesn't fade everyone to weird pale colours, including fur, scales, markings, tattoos and make up). We'd have the same abilities and skills, but it would be nice from a roleplaying view.

Werewolves' would change them to look like other werebeasts such as werebear and werecrocodile, and also update the old wolf one.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

I really, really dislike the weird bat noses from base game Skyrim (which, IIRC, they mercifully fixed in Dawnguard).

However, I do really like the idea of having vampirism work off of your default skin tone rather than automatically re-coloring everything to Lamae White.

    Completely agree.

These are all odds and ends left over post development that never got revised. They should tone down the effects and take a look at bats cause *this* new bats causes lag every time I use it whereas the old one did not. In fact if I recall correctly the old bats was reworked to resolve this issue and then they tossed it in the dumpster. What a waste.
