Not everyone has the urge of speed running dungeons.

Not everyone does, but the vast majority of groups take off at full speed without even a “hello”, and pull bosses assuming everyone has done things before.

You aren't obligated to say hello when queuing into something to play the game.

I don’t recall saying they were.

You can, but unsubscribing is insane to solve a solution that should be available in game.

A "solution" to a non existing problem.. and if people don't like pugs, then there are guilds and friends

It's not a non-existing problem. And it's not even about pugs.

Fact: Non DLC owners have an easier random dungeon queue.
Fact: DLC dungeon owners have a harder random dungeon queue.

Those are indisputable facts. The dungeon queues are already disproportionately easier for non DLC owners. With no options for DLC owners to make the queue the same as non owners. That is a problem. And it becomes even more of a problem as more DLC dungeons are released into the queue. 24 non DLC dungeons and 22 DLC dungeons. This should be two queues.

Also a fact that ESO+ members from time to time find themselves wanting to do a dungeon. When they do the random queue is there to help them find a group just like it helps non ESO+ members find a group for the dungeon they want to do. You are not asking to help ESO+ members. You are asking to punish them by making it so the random queue no longer caters to their needs.
We have the queue to help people fill groups. It needs to work for all players whether they have ESO+ or not. If they do add the option to opt out of DLC dungeons doing so should lower the rewards to 20%. Maybe even 10%.

Not really asking to ruin ESO+ players experience. Asking for there to be a choice in what random queue you enter.

And honestly, what point is there is funneling people who don't want to do a set of dungeons into them just to fill a spot? More often they just leave the group immediately, which just then takes longer to fill the slot. Or they stay and are woefully unprepared for it and waste the time of everyone who actually wants to be there.

Separate the queues and you then get exactly the players who want to be in the dungeons in the queues. If you feel like running some DLC dungeons, you join the random DLC queue. If you feel like knocking out a quick base game random dungeon, you join that queue. It's hard to say, in the current state, that the dungeon queue is truly random when 1 portion of the player base doesn't have half the dungeons in their queue and the other portion of the player base has no way to get a similar queue.

If there is a choice to skip DLCs in the random queue then players needing to fill a group will have insanely long queue times it they get a group at all. The point is to fill spots for players that are wanting to complete a specific dungeon. That is why we have the queue. The rewards are incentive. Separating the queues isn't a solution so long as rewards remain the same. If you are looking for the daily rewards then obviously you are going the easy route. A separate queue takes away from the reason they have a queue at all.
It isn't about the daily rewards. It is about filling groups.

Tanks/healers, the ones that in my experience are the most likely to quit, do so because the dungeon will probably take longer than the 15 min ban you'll get for leaving.. And that has nothing to do with DLC.. And I'll stand by my saying that the dungeon finder works exactly as it should, allowing everyone in.. There is no need for another queue, dividing up the player base.. If one does not like a pug, they should form a group of their own

IDK why you keep bringing this to Pugs. This has zero to do with Pugs. This has everything to do with players wanting to be able to have the same experience as other players. And that is not possible once you spend money on the game. You are immediately excluded from having the same dungeon running experience. The moment you buy a DLC you can never have the same experience as a player who hasn't. Allowing players who haven't purchased anything extra to ALWAYS have an easier random dungeon queue. But you keep deflecting to Pugs and putting together your own group. Which is wholly irrelevant. And in fact, putting your own group together to run the random queue still doesn't allow you to exclude lengthier, or more difficult, DLC dungeons. You still get thrown into everything, unless you jump through stupid hoops to have a low level player or a player without DLCs in the group. Needing to jump through those hoops to have a more even experience is absurd.

    1) making 2 queue for dlc / non-dlc is not an option, almost no one will queue for dlc dungeon... if u are the one that try to farm a set from one of those dlc dungeon, but now, their is 80% less people doing them cause no one queue it will even be more painfull...

    2) giving half transmute for a non-dlc dungeon is not an option too, their is people that can't afford to buy a subscription or can afford to buy the dlc dungeon itself... penalizing them is not an option...

best solution is premade group with friends/guildmates... and that works for anything!

If no one would ever queue for the DLC dungeons, then maybe that's a good thing. Maybe Zos needs to rethink their approach to DLC dungeons if the majority of the playerbase hates them so much. Maybe having 4 of them a year is a waste of resources. All the queue does in it's current form is force people into them who have no real choice in the matter.

Having a premade group doesn't change the Random Queue functionality, unless you jump through hoops to purposely hurt your team by having under leveled characters or are lucky enough to know someone who doesn't have ESO+ and is wanting to run a dungeon. Hoops that shouldn't be necessary to jump through when a portion of the player base never has to think about it at all.

I bring it up because of what the OP posted, so it has a lot to do with pugs.. And I think it is pure nonsense to claim that you can never have the same experience, just because you got the dlc content.. But fine, I'll make it very straight, again.. Dungeon Finder works perfectly, as is.. There is no good reason to make any changes to that system

You absolutely have the same experience now. You have a chance of using the group finder to fill a group for every dungeon you have access to just like every other player in the game. You want to take that away. Need a healer to do the DLC pledge? Well tough luck they are all queuing for the easy rewards.
The group finder is about filling groups. Everything else is 2ndary.

If you want good groups for dungeons, then get a group together.

You are of a higher level - expect to participate in higher end content.

The system was literally designed to encourage you to participate in that harder content

I would be okay with that but you only get 10% of the daily rewards if you do not include the DLCs. Actually not even then. Had to remind myself it isn't about the rewards it is about people being able to fill their group.

Had a healer random into our Cauldron motif run. He was like 350 CP and had never done it.

In the end he was very happy and got both Vet + HM then we ran it again with him in group. WIth your settings that would have never happened.

They have toned down dungeons and are making them a lot better balanced lately without random difficulty spike Pug Killers. They seem to have now 100% favored HM per boss setting even "Veteran DLC" encounters as a "Medium" difficulty level. I think the issue is that players CAN que into **Veteran** content regardless of DLC or not and have no clue on gameplay mechanics. Tank/healing with two players who just run around and LA every 10 seconds then run around makes even a non DLC like CoA2 irritating to play

*Edit: I will say leaving the CP requirement at 300 is misleading. Old CP 300 is very much different than new CP 300.

As I stated previously, random queue rewards like this are to help ensure players will be in the queue to help fill groups queueing for specific dungeons. Considering Zenimax has a financial interest in the DLC dungeons and we know players will queue for the newest ones it makes sense to have them part of the random dungeon queue.

By reducing the DLC dungeons that are part of this the effectiveness of the random reward is greatly reduced. As such the reward should be reduced or even eliminated.

I'm fine having the DLC dungeons in the randoms. If you don't want DLC dungeons, there are two simple solutions:

    1. Don't buy dungeon DLC
    2. Don't have ESO plus

    Problem solved.

I don't know if this sounds mean, but if people aren't spending any money on the game then why should they be a concern to us when it comes to what rewards they can get?

Simple solution, don’t pug. Form your own group with likeminded players… not everyone wants to speed run. Dictating how a dungeon ‘should’ be done while using group finder is just odd.

Newbies (or not so newbies who actually want to take thier time, or quest etc) rightly have the exact same right as you to the random daily dungeon.

This is a super biased, tbh. The majority of the time they may not want to but they are willing and able to do it anyway, or they don't know how to do it but can be taught.

If the completion ratios weren't actually good, ZOS would have separated the queues a long time ago and there would be thread after thread about it. But it is self evident that is not how it's playing out because it actually works.

ZoS has randoms so people who don't have friend/guild groups going can still find groups for the things they want to run. And the reward for doing the random is to incentivize you to help someone else get it done. If you don't want to help, don't do the random.

Not sure why this topic keeps coming up. Normal dungeons can be soloed, including dlcs. And 4 people should be able to steamroll through them. If you struggle then maybe look up some guides but dont demand queue splits or nerfs. Separating queues would only make them longer for everyone.

My sub auto renewed by accident (forgot to turn it off) so I log in to get my daily then shut the game off. I’ll blind que when it ends in 15 days. The dlc dungeons just aren’t fun, take too long, and let’s face it…..the majority of dps are just not good. As a support role, if I do more damage than the dps, there’s a problem. Just give me FG1 and let me go about my day. It’s all about 1 dungeon a day to burn enlightenment and I’m off to other things. At least have a pop up that states which instance you’re going to enter so you can deny it or confirm it. Otherwise I hate making others lives miserable by leaving the second I see which garbage dlc instance I’m in. Make life easier for everyone Eso devs, give us a QOL update where it lets us know which instance is happening so we can say yes or no. I’d keep a sub that way. Why lose money? I know so many people that don’t subscribe due to the dlc dungeons.

+1 to separate dlc from vanilla 'random'

It's really not fair to those of us who sub or bought the expns to have to deal with the dlc stuff,
unless ZoS are hoping to extort that what? 2 *insert currency* for base game code?? from it's
already paying and playing customers so that people can have a 'nosub' account to 'group' with
to avoid unwanted time sinks. Even amongst friends/guildies/good dps, let's face it, some of em
are just freakin' slogs compared to the 2 or 3 mins the ftp guys get.

If people are against this idea, then rewards should be different.. if I do random dlc dungeon I would like to get 20 transmute crystals instead of 10. There is a big difference between getting Fungal grotto 1 and LoM dungeon.

If there is a separate queue, and if I queue for dlc dungeon then at least I will be ready to actually care for other people and give my maximum to complete the dungeon thus making experience for everyone much more enjoyable.

So as it currently stands only paying players have to find solutions to get around a nonsense queue.

This makes the bad assumption that everyone who paid for that content wouldn't want to queue it. When in actuality, most of the time when you get placed into a random dungeon another paying customer queued for it.

Those paying customers chose to pay for the dungeons. Splitting queue would result in disaster for a lot of people who paid to be able queue into those dungeons. You can't please both of them, but giving the customer what they paid for should always come before pleasing a customer who just doesn't want to use something they paid for, especially when that customer has easy way workaround to not using. All you have to do is queue with a low level.

Breaking the queues times anymore than they already are is a bad idea.

And truly is unreasonable for people to treat random queue as something it is not. It's not a way to score easy loot. It's you getting payment for helping a random stranger with something they need help doing.
