Would you like to see Remains-Silent as a player Companion?

The Argonian Remains-Silent is strong, won't complain when you open a Thieves' Trove or use Blade of Woe, and is always willing to help (at least once a day).

No matter when you talk to her, she always has something useful to say.

All the companions are meant to be their own unique character, not an existing character for any questing continuity issues of them being with you and you talking with the real one. I realize the irony of saying this when there's a dozen Bastian or Mirri in the same area all standing next to each other.

@Tandor Please elaborate. It's already "just wrong" to me that everyone I see has the exact same person standing behind them and that 50% of ESO's population are now either Mirri or Bastian. Personally I don't see the difference between those two and already existing NPCs being your companion. All the issues I would have with it I already have with the current companions so what makes this one different?
At least Remains-Silent wouldn't annoy you with voice lines and wouldn't mind you killing innocent NPCs.

    This.

Plus it's just wrong in my view to have an NPC you interact with in specific ways following you around in a different role. Companions should be new characters with their own personalities, not clones of existing NPCs even down to the name.

Other players aren't canon, you're the vestige. The characters in the game are canon. So from a lore immersion perspective, it is different. I still wouldn't seeing it though. Remains silent can have a twin or something. She's not a quest NPC just a vendor, so I don't see an issue with her being the companion.

Here's a thought, how would you build rapport with "REMAINS-SILENT"?

    Sign language?
    ESP?
    Writing notes?

Yeah, so that is a No.

The brotherhood is more about action than words so rapport wouldn't be difficult as long as you're feeding the Blade of Woe the blood of your enemies (and a few innocents).

I agree with others that using an existing npc is a no-go, but the brotherhood attracts the deadly, silent type so I'm sure we could recruit a Remains-Silent-esque companion no problem.

You can talk to Mirri and Bastian 10 times a day for a month and never gain a single point of rapport.

Outside their quest completion dialog ... nothing either they or you say matters at all to the rapport sytem.

Yes, because as a Finn, no words are needed anyways.

    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

I'd love to see an Argonian shadowscale as a companion.

    But she's too silent.

"The Argonian Remains-Silent is strong, won't complain when you open a Thieves' Trove or use Blade of Woe, and is always willing to help (at least once a day)."

I haven't seen any indication she is strong at all. Usually just sitting around not saying anything. And she might get upset that you are using the Blade of Woe outside of official sanctioned stabbings? All she really seems to do is give me things she is to lazy to destroy herself.

Like others I don't think we need NPCs to become companions.

I read the "WAaaaaaa" and somehow immediately got the song Jungle Love by Morris Day and the Time stuck in my head. Not sure how that happened because it has been at least twenty years since I last heard that song.

They're in the Dark Brotherhood and hang out at the outlaw refuge, so I imagine sacraments for the big rapport increase. And crimes for the small one.

For me the key point is: "won't complain when you open a Thieves' Trove". I like Bastian a lot, but I have enough to turn him off every time I open a trove (what is often enough) and then on again. It becomes rapidly annoying... :/

This. It would not make sense to go to or walk past Remains Silent when you have Remains Silent as your companions.

A great example is players would want Gwendis as their companions then would do the quest with her out while talking to the Gwendis in the story arcs. It would be a very poor path to go down.

I think this would take away from who they are. Having Remains-Silent only in certain places is part of who they are

That would be like having a Molag Bal pet or a Hooded Figure companion

It doesn't feel right to me
