You can always turn off ally effects, turn down particles and if you are a pc player you can turn off all players with add ons. I think you have options for your visual plight.

NO, there are no options. There is zero way to turn off or down the light show. Even as low as it can go AND even with glare addon etc. The effects are glaring and on top of everything else.

It’s not just the amount of effects, it’s also the design of the effects. ESO seems unique in the way its effects obscure what is going on. The smoke, blur, blinding lights... these are not necessary just to give a visual clue of a skill. Zos could make it much cleaner.

In terms of buffs/debuffs I would rather just have those effects displayed like any other MMOs below or above the health bar as icons displayed how long they last. Would be better than visual indicators. Its too much honestly at times.

Last night I was tanking in vet dungeons and had not only a daedroth in between me and the boss but a damn dwarven air atronarch thing there too (what set does that come from btw, never seen it before)

    I couldn't see a damn thing!

Dwarven air atronachs don't exist, but there is a set in unhallowed grave that summons a dervish

In LoTRO you can disable the Post-Processing effects, Combat Hit effects, Enable Combat Particle Response, Optional Combat Animations, plus to must have options Show Only Show Dispellable Effects, and Only Show Effects Cast by You. As old as the game is, it is very graphic intensive and in raids it does get nuts without adjusting all that since some of the effects are completely over the top --- way more than what we see here, believe it or not.

When on my Loremaster for example, I always get people that freak out over seeing Lightning Storm for the first time and many that don't know about the settings have asked how can they turn off it's effect. It hits three different times over 5 targets in a 7 m radius plus can get a bonus if it cashes out another skill Burning Embers. It is absolutely massive and lights up the entire screen. Leaves everything nice and crispy :D --- My Socr here wishes he had such power, lol

If we had the ability to fine tune effects here as I do there, I would be thrilled but as someone already stated we've been asking for this since the beginning and not change one has been addressed. *sad*

No idea what they're called. Just went with that lol.
Also, I meant to say dwemer, not dwarven.

Summoned Dwemer Aegis, from the Aegis Caller set
