And there's a housing achievement for finding him in each of your houses-- but you have to own every house in the game to get it!

It would be cool if you could set it so he doesn't always appear.

Give him a location or a path, and when he's there he'll be where you've set him to be, but he doesn't appear every time you're there.

Don't give them ideas, or with the next update you will have this effect for all other house guests (except M'Aiq, of course) and half of your furnishings as well :#

At first I was like :open_mouth: MUST get.
But the more I think on it, idk. For me the coolest thing about M'air IS finding him and getting to chat for a minute, usually have a laugh.
If he's in our homes all the time? Might take something out of it I feel.

Course I say that but if he comes with all his various lines\responses I may still have to get him just for the lols. Some of his lines are priceless! :D

He's bound to be at least 2500 Crowns so for me it will be a "no thankyou"

I love housing but house guests just disappoint me, they are too limited in their actions, I have much more fun pathing pets tbh. 😃

I also totally agree he should've been unlockable ingame!

They always sink into the floor for me.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Think the idea is that he spend lots of time behind the house or other hiding place so you not always see him.

To be honest, I am not sure I am OK with buying something that I have no control of. I remember testing my mod with 20 or so random events trying to witness one or another and the actual chances to do it were always much worse than desired (and expected from the code). We already have inability to set time and weather in houses, we definitely don't need even more things beyond our control. It is much better, for example, to have pathing states "invisible" or something like this, so that house decorator could have under his control.

And it is much more safe from the bug potential point of view.

100% should be obtainable by acquiring the M'aiq the Liar achievement finding him all around the overland. This is my primary complaint with ESO at the moment, aside from performance.

I understand a large portion of your revenue comes from the store, but there are far too few interesting and worthwhile things to acquire from gameplay alone.

IMHO all Houseguests are pointless for the simple reason the pathing system is terrible. It's non-intuitive and makes everything robotic. Look back at Skyrim, for example. Despite the awkward way that pathing worked there — if you never created a house with a Creation Kit, IIRC (been years already) you used small triangles to "paint" a walkable area for them and then the AI could control NPCs movement freely there, making them sit, cook, use crafting stations ... — but, anyway, it used to be much more effective than it is here.

The less robotic option ESO pathing can produce is creating a path around all corners and setting it to "random", but if your house has support beams like Antiquarian's Gallery you'll see Houseguests (and pets) passing through them eventually, like if these support beams had no collision at all. Not to mention that, apparently, they don't go up and down staircases either.

The second thing that makes them pointless to me is that they only speak when interacted with and yet it's only a predefined set of lines that will eventually make you sick of hearing them. Would be MUCH more natural if, for example, they reacted when the player gets in the same cell as they're or gets near them (even if just a "hello, hero"), or if they could chat with another Houseguest in front of them, (some) pets could come near for you to pet them. Possibilities are almost infinite.

They could tie him to the finding M’Aiq achievement… and I love the idea that he’s not always in your house…
