Why are post 2018 skills so damn awkward to use?

Imbue Weapon, Blastbones, flame skull, necro Siphon, Boneyard, reworked Stonefist, Eviscerate, Crystal Weapon.

All super awkward and clunky, i don't get it. Why can't these skills be more like force pulse, fluent, easy to use and weave.

we need more force pulse in the game, not awkward poop rock.

    Imbued/Crystal Weapon is definitely a bit clunky. But this heavily depends on your ping and the type of weapon you use. I find it to be pretty smooth with lighting staves and bows, but unbearably sluggish with inferno staff and dual wield.

    Blastbones is experimental, so it's always going to feel a bit weird.

    But flame skull and boneyard? They're just your standard projectile and ground AoE skills. Nothing about them is any different from skills that have been in the game since launch.

    As a long time Stamsorc main I was really excited for Crystal Weapon. But it just feels clunky as hell so I've given up on it.

    I've barely touched Nerco as a class so I can't comment on it. As for Stonefist... the less said the better.

    I disagree on boneyard, it for some bizarre reason is at least 10x more awkward to use than skills like illustrious healing and winter's revenge.

    My guess is the slow and awkward animation.

    Everything is nowdays slower in my opinion in combat. Less fun.

    Probably trying to be "different" too much, can't properly play necro or stamdk nowadays for that reason.

    Flame skull is clunky because it has higher minimum travel time than force pulse.

    OMG I try vamp builds from time to time but use THIS instead of Concealed Weapon is a torture

    As for necro skills... I found it's different sense but not that bad. The problem for me is overall clunkiness of the class and a special reminder for how his skills aim

    Exactly. Great example!

    Just trying those 2 mechanically-similar skills side by side is enough to see how Boneyard is much clunkier.

    I think most of the "modern" skills have much longer "uncancellable" animations or trigger much later on the animation lifecycle or something.

    It is really hard to make Illustrious Healing NOT fire after you click the button. Boneyard a lot of times will just not fire if you don't wait a tiny bit after clicking.

    Same for all the spammables. Still bugs me to no end how Force Pulse can be so much obviously better at weaving than the newer skills or even something like Swallow Soul.

    Those animations should all be exactly the same under the hood in terms of actually firing the skill and freeing the character for the next light attack or skill.

    crystal weapons was so hype for me and then i find out it's just a remastered crushing weapon...
    ugh. who liked crushing weapon to start with?

    i use it sometimes with crit surge because i like the special effects and it makes bows one shot some mobs.

    that being said i preffer shrouded daggers or maybe rapid strikes most of the time.
