Companion Quests...

I know that they both have a 2nd & 3rd Quest....

What I don't get, is how do you activate them.

I've run Mirri up for over a week now, she's about half way to "max" rapport, yet when I talk to her, she just prattles on about stupid things.

How do you get the Quest(s) to trigger??

Was wondering same thing. Rapport is not maxed but I have done the three things in achievements to gain both their "favor."

The companions' quests are triggered automatically once your rapport reaches the 'magic' level. The companion will then sport a quest arrow over their head until you talk to them to get the quest. Don't know what the actual required levels are. You have to be well over halfway from min to max but not as high as 2/3 there - if that helps.

    Ok, thanks.

Guess Mirri isn't far enough yet...

    Have a good day...

    Thanks.

I know I have gained their favor often and not lost much (only once or twice in the beginning) but the meter doesn't seem to have moved much.

The best way to raise their rapport is to do daily quests that they like - Mages Guild for Bastian, and Fighters Guild and Numani-Rasi's Ashlander quests for Mirri. Those will each give 125 rapport at a shot, which far surpasses what you get from things like reading books or killing snakes.

I did the Mages and Fighters Guild dailies once each and Numani-Rasi's a couple times for Mirri and got no rapport from any of them.

The rapport gain seems to be a bit wonky. I got Mirri’s last two quests back to back, but Bastian’s 3rd one took several days to pop after the 2nd one and I using both of them back and forth with these dailies and other stuff. Even now, trying to max them Mirri is pretty much done, with Bastian slowly getting there.

Doing their quests gets you 500 rapport each, which used to be enough to take you from Mirri’s second quest straight to the third. That was not intended and was fixed in a recent patch. Now I believe you need at least a week of dailies in between. The required rapport for her third quest was raised; all the other numbers seem to have stayed the same.

Okay, I just did another quest for Numani-Rasi with Mirri and again, no rapport. And it wasn't a cooldown because it was about 20 minutes since the last increase.

Each companion offers one quest at "Friendly" rapport (1500) and another quest at "Close" rapport (2750) once you've finished the first quest. Completing a personal quest gives 500 rapport.

Each companion starts at "Cordial" rapport (750), and completing a Mages Guild daily (for Bastian) or Fighters Guild daily (for Mirri) rewards 125 rapport. This makes guild dailes an efficient way to increase rapport, as well as leveling the companions' guild skill lines.

This. And I think Mirri is easier to raise than Bastion because Mirri has the guild quest and the Ashlander quest. I have wondered if there is something we are missing with Bastian's rapport.

If you want to max report without effort just do the daily Fighter's Guild for Miri and the Daily Mage's Guild for Bastion. Don't expect to get there in just a few days tho. It will take a good month or so. But this is the most effortless way of doing it.

Both mine are maxed and they are both standing in my house so it is possible. :)

I did another fighter's guild daily last night and that time I did get a rapport increase.

My main point is that Numani-Rasi's quests do not result in rapport.

You might want to bug report that, because I've gotten rapport from the the Ashlander Relic daily, and there's been no patch notes about removing the rapport from it.

I have always gained rapport with Mirri from Numani-Rasi's quests, as long as 20 hours had passed since the last Numani-Rasi's quest turn-in
