Mail scam / griefing

I was just curious as to what is the process for mail returns? basically i was selling a daedric motif and was offered a fair sum, the buyer asked it to be mailed c.o.d.

Turns out the buyer is a known griefer and scammer and now i'm out my motif, I understand there arn't a lot of solutions currently apart from trading in person but im mainly concerned that i have to wait 30 days or some long period of time before my mail is returned?

I have reported the player and won't bother naming here, but hopefully there is a way it can be returned prior to waiting the time for it to be automatically sent back.

I don't understand. How are you out a Motif? Did you accept the cod without him giving you gold?

He sent it COD, and the guy just ignores the mail. No accept, no decline. Caught in limbo for... 30 days?

Nope.
It starts to be a common practice:
There are 2 people advertising to sell same thing at similar price.
One of the offers to buy the item, asks for c.o.d.
The seller sends the item via c.o.d.
The 'buyer' does not accept the c.o.d., waits until he sold his own item, then declines the c.o.d. or in some cases waits until transaction period expires, which currently is 72 hours.

make an "report player" /bug Ticket and Report him for that reason. Then the process is speeded up an way.

Ah 72 hours sounds ok, i dont know where i heard 30 days.

Yeah used the /report, was just hoping for some clarification on the time it takes to get back, cheers.

There's been other threads on the subject where people allegedly didn't get their item back within 3 days, so possibly there? I know I've seen that at least.

Might be a bug, so better to report the issue.
Also make another report in case you really don't get the item back, you will need to ask for item restore. Best of luck, mate.

Yeah, hopefully these things are infraction-able and there's some sort of deterrent otherwise c.o.d will become pointless.

Update - It's been well over 72 hours and i havnt received either the motif or payment for this. Is there any known bug/hack/scam that the other player could of done to receive or keep me from getting my motif returned?
