It's the most annoying part of the game with companion, you want to open door, you talk to Bastian.
You want to use wayshrine, you talk to Bastian.
You want to loot, you talk to Bastian.
You want to chop tree, you talk to Bastian.

In the name of Meridia (the one true god) I totally agree.

Bastian is especially talkative and he talks utter rollocks all of the time. I'd love to have him put a sock in it!

And please have Companions walk BEHIND me. At least two paces. Their interaction hit box is still too intrusive.

This is being tested on the PTS right now. Interactable objects like doors, chests, crafting tables, harvesting node and looting dead enemies will take priority over combat pets and companions so that they will not interfere with said objects.

    "Interaction Priority Changes
We've added new rules for determining which things you'll interact with when there's a potential conflict. Generally speaking, interactable objects that are valuable (such as resource nodes and lootable corpses) will have priority over things that are mobile or player-made (such as Companions and Mementos). You should also have less of a problem attempting to interact with doors, Dye Stations, and other permanently available interactable objects, even when they're surrounded by Jubilee Cakes or Sorcerer pets. That's great and all but why wouldn't it have been taken care of much earlier than now. It's beyond horrible. When you harvest a survey, the companions can have as much of a radius to block you from harvest as 10 or 15 feet. I'm sick of having to run away from a survey cluster 50 feet just to get their feet moving off it.

Especially when riding. Whenever I stop on my mount, they merge theirs with mine.

We need a companion Wheel like in Fallout.

    Be Close or Far Away
Be Aggressive or Passive (only attack if I do)
    Be Quiet or Talkative
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

That's great if it works but...

It wont solve the issue I want to jump instead of talking to a companion. They just need a toggle, plain and simple.

And make an option to completely disable their comments on things I do. Infrequent is not infrequent enough an I'm sick of hearing their lines over and over. They don't have that many lines either.

Agreed. I am especially sick of them both trying to give me combat advice that I don't need.

I don't have central air or heat, so I have fans going all the time. I rarely hear them speak. My issue is trying to jump or interact with some things. Maybe next chapter will bring companion control. One can hope.
