CP Nerfs/Changes

Dear Devs,

I hope you read this.

I really wish that you would stop with the nerfs to the CP. The CP system is still a new system and I believe that making nodes more interesting or making new nodes that make us question which one we should use would work better.

For example: rejuvenation you just gutted, questionable if it's even worth the CP investment before, and now even more questionable. Also considering it's the ONLY source in the CP to boost your regen, gutting it is horrible. At 90 across the board it would be better to make this a passive instead of a slottable. What would be more interesting would be nodes like 90 health recovery and X health recovery when your health drops below a 50%. Doing the same for magika and stamina regen as well. Or even leaving the 150 across the board node, but add the X health/magika/stamina and X when below X as new nodes. Give us better choices before deciding to nerf, and in some situations, the only options we have. Create more interesting nodes before deciding to gut previous one, cuz it seems to me, at times, some things are getting nerfed because "Oh everyone is using this node so it's too popular."

Some general interesting node ideas:

Increase Health w/ health recovery when under X% health.
Increase magika w/ magika recovery when under X% magika
Increase stamina w/ stamina recovery when under x% stamina
X% reduce stamina/magika cost when under X% or if a skill costs above X.
Increase resistances (spell/phy) as you lose health based on % lost. (like 1% increase to spell/phy per 20% missing health for example)
Increase spell resistance if you was hit by a magika attack
increase phy resistance if you was hit by a physical attack

These are just off the top of my head when writing this, but there is no nodes that effect our recovery rates other than Rejuvenation, please give us some passive ones and more interesting slotable ones. There also no cp nodes for helping with skill costs, that's a window into some interesting nodes. As a tank, all my gear is slotted with Study, as a healer it's divines, as dps it's still divine. I would love to see some interesting nodes that make me maybe want to change certain traits on my gear.

I am also in the same boat as most of the community when 4 slot options for each of the CP areas is really limiting, consider you are always making new slotables. 5 would be better. I hope the green tree is coming for some love soon as it's horrible. Some of those nodes could be made passive, because we had them before as passives and am looking for more interesting nodes in that area as well. Like increase swimming, nodes that lets us focus and improve a certain craft instead of a general blanket all crafts, maybe i'm not a crafter but i'm a gathering so interesting nodes towards that playstyle, and FOR the love of Rich gives us a node that helps us with trophy drops (SERIOUSLY)

I'll end it here as I feel like if I go on, it would be more of a rant then some sorta of constructive feedback but to wrap things up, the CP system is still new, and you already making some huge changes to certain nodes, gutting some nodes, and probably making some really good balance changes to others. I just feel like before making these kind of changes, it might be more interesting to make more interesting nodes so we the players have more choices and can make more interesting builds and changes.

I don't think rejuvenation is questionable. For me it's must have. I run dry in dungeons all day and now it gets nerfeds.. great

Must have ghastly eyebowl and can't switch the food because sustain is so bad...

In trials it works because you have many synergies and good healers with the right sets but in 4 man content it's ***.

Another thing that should have been in battle spirit imo. No one complains about sustain being bad for the game in 4 man content. And not for nothing ZoS but these nerfs making your dungeon queue a no man's land.

If I have to rely on a healer for sustain why would I waste my time queuing for a 4 man dungeon only to get a fake healer that can't do damage?

Would love to hear the justification for a change like this.

That's exactly what I am thinking. Have to use Perfected False god to be able to sustain and that sucks hard. Most healers don't even apply mag steal.... and have random sets.

Normal fg is too weak thx to your dumb changes.

They've been making terrible decisions for a while, but the proc set changes, CP 2.0, and basically everything about this coming patch have completely destroyed my desire to play this game for the foreseeable future.

Agreed. Sustain is ok for me in trials on stat food but doing dungeons makes me question why I ever race changed off Breton

In 4-man content you can use Death Dealers Fete Ring and buff food with max stat+regen (Ghastly Eye Bowl for example) to prevent having a low health pool or bad sustain.

Dude I use ghastly and run dry fast. Heavy attacks restore close to no mag at all anymore.

Plus it's no good design if you have to rely on 1 mythic to be able to complete vet 4 man content.

It sucks. Then monster sets will be even more useless.

Atm with rejuvenation sustain is OK.

But after the nerf it won't be worth slotting it anymore. Wasted points...

    [snip]

Why I say that, just because every change the devs done finish at the end by a nerf to the game (damage output, evade, regen, etc...).

I don't understand where they want to go, but actually if you play a stam you basically do the same rotation over and over there is just an icon change depending on the class, same for magica character ...

So no, I really don't get where they want to go with the game ....

Yeah after the update, I'm not going to slot rejuvenation anymore. It's just not worth that many points for so little returns. I agree it should be a passive if we are going to get that little out of it.

I wonder if the nerf to rejuvenation is because of the prismatic enchant change... would make sense.

I myself play a tank and as a newer player tank, I can say that sustain does not feel good. It's either one extreme or the other, I have enough or I don't have enough. It would be nice to have some help that isn't a slottable. I run food, I do heavy attacks, I try and manage my attacks.

For my healer, her sustain is good, mostly run normal dungeons so clue beyond that on her. As for my necro and warden dps... yeah the magika cost on their abilities is super high, for my warden i'm looking at 3.5+ upwards of almost 5k per skill. Even with full mana regen enchants and food, I still have substain issues.

There needs to be a new cluster node for regen. In the middle is rejuvenation (passive) then branch out from there with slotatable ones for health, magika, stamina, that also gives some skill cost reduction. That would be super helpful.

I thought the point of the new CP system, among other reasons, was to help with build diversity.... i'm not seeing that. So far everyone seems to be sloting the same nodes. I think the devs should be focus on branch out with new nodes that give us more choices, so we can come up with more interesting builds, then focusing on editing the current ones.

Here's another node ideal.... Whenever you block a melee attack, increase your stamina regen by X% for 10second, 20 second cooldown. If you block a spell attack, increase your mana regen by X% for 10 seconds, 20 second cooldown.

Would love to hear the justification for a change like this.

Every time they add something new, they nerf what was already there/being used. This includes sets, and more recently CP nodes. Basically, they want people to use their new nodes.

I wish the ESO team would do a better "manifesto" like how Path of Exile does. So we the community would have a better clue as to why for such changes. I think there needs to be better communication, and being able to understand the dev's point of view to certain things, would probably help. I get balancing, there are many aspects of their game *cough*BG*cough* that clearly needs some balancing, but without context to as why certain things are changing, it just creates pure chaos.

Run a maelstrom inferno backbar use unstable wall and soul consuming trap as an extra dot. If playing warden run winters revenge, Templar run ritual of retribution, NB lotus fan, DK eruption. Use Bahsei on you stam toons, mag dump, profit the the bonus damage. He’ll run a DOT build with deadly and Bahsei because next patch it boosts all dots. Profit.

FWIW Bahsei actually works on current patch n Stamden. I did 5pc body with AY and maelstrom inferno and still managed to break 90K before they change the armor passives. Maybe they will learn not to mess with things so much when stam toons are running light armor next patch.

I think the road the devs take is pretty obvious at this point. It basically means to get rid of all meaningful vertical progression.. So even though we now have 3600 CP points to aquire, progressing CPs is rather a matter of convenience than of actual progression.

OTOH there is no vertical progression from items either, as there don't seem to be plans of raising the cp160 item cap. So once you reach something between CP800-1200 (a matter of a few weeks if you push it) you're basically done with character develpment.

After that it boils down to adjust to the 3 monthly attempts of the dev team to balance skills and items and to match the software to the available computational resources.

So I am really starting to ask myself where the incentive for playing the game might come from for me.Eye candy only takes me that far...

Personally, I was stuck with Breton on Covenant characters(Magplar and Frostden[previously Magden]) and the moment I log into my any other magic character since deletion of skill cost reduction from CP I cannot play them the same way I used to and dry out my mana even if I'll race change them to kitty and will wear False God's Devotion. However when I am a Breton I have 0 issues with sustain without any synergies or sets and that feeling is addictive. I have tested my Frostden on pts and even with such nerf I never drop my mana to the point where I need to do heavy attack, I cannot even imagine how that nerf affect non-Bretons, but I feel your pain on my every other character every day on live.

Yeah I heard that false god's is basically a must for a lot of different builds/classes/players just for substain. I feel that on my warden and necro currently but don't really play them in group content enough to warrant the change....
