The events of ESO however still happened within the same reality as the main line titles. ✭✭✭✭✭My opinion might not be "lore kosher," but I think that each ES game's timeline is The One True Timeline as far as that game is concerned.
If you want to start preaching lore and criticizing one or more ES games for "breaking lore" or whatever, then IMO we could say that every ES game since TES:Arena has played fast and loose with the lore, changed the timeline for its own purposes, etc.
Frankly, I think it's a good thing that Bethesda and ZOS have allowed the lore to be expanded or even altered for the benefit of each game.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!2 -

Events from previously released Elder Scrolls titles aren't spin-offs or separated in a different time line from ESO, they just happened in different Eras. Are you able to remember anything else about it? What was the format? Was it an interview style with people discussing the game, or a preview of something? If it was a preview do you know what it was about? Do you remember anything else which was discussed in the same video? That might help us find it.
Currently we have nothing to go on except that it included a comment about ESO being the canon timeline, and since you yourself seem unsure about that (since you're looking to confirm) it seems likely other people may have understood it differently or it may not have been a very memorable comment in the context of the video, which makes it difficult to identify. As far as I can remember, the only game which is (kinda) out of continuity is Legends. (Its story is 4th Era, but many of the cards are from other timeframes.)
ESO and Redguard are set in the Second Era.
Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, Morrowind, and Oblivion are Third Era.
Legends (sort of), Blades, and Skyrim are 4th Era.
That should be a roughly chronological order.
With the exception of Legends, everything is canon. (And, even then, Legends storylines are probably canon, up to a point.)1 -

Actually if my math is right, The Elder Scrolls: Online takes place 747 years before the events of TES 4: Oblivion, and 948 years before TES 5: Skyrim.

Technically Dragon Breaks are not alternate timelines but a moment where multiple possible realities happen at once... and they're all correct in the main timeline.
