I mean, everyone seems to be forgetting to mention that light armor gets better defense vs spells when they mention that light armor takes more damage from physical. Light armor takes less damage from magic, medium takes less damage from physical. Seems okay to me.

    It is not okay.

    Match ups:

LA vs LA, it is equal
MA vs MA, it is equal
MA vs LA, LA user is toast!

Maybe devs tried to make this: LA beats HA, HA beats MA, MA beats LA. But this dont work properly. LA users melt down while no other match up end witha melt down. Using LA conventionaly is suicide. Only a few setups can pull it off

I get absolutely melted by Mag when I'm in more than 2 Heavy and don't have damage shields up. If I had time to break-free, maybe that wouldn't be the case.

A "get good" advice: learn how to block/dodge and learn how to counter magsorc combo. That way they wont make a dent. I use 7H on my warden and I can stand infront of a zerg for ~10 seconds.

I'm speaking more of BGs, but, it's been fairly palpable for me there that if I'm facing a team with more Mag, I'm better off in more Medium, if I'm facing a team with more Stam, I'm better off in more Heavy. Or more simply, a StamBlade will punish me for wearing 7 Medium, but a MagSorc will punish me for wearing 7 Heavy. I agree MagSorcs are more counterable in BGs than they've been in most patches, maybe any, for sure the Stam Damage Taken on Light is a factor there. They're in worse shape than usual if their shields are down and they lack the resources to evade. Frankly so far this patch I think class balance in BGs is quite good, but it's still early on in the patch on console.

I said in some thread, maybe this one, for me, the choice between "How much Heavy vs how much Medium" has never had a less clear answer, it's highly situational, which I think is good sign that these armor passives are constructive towards better balance - if myopic and anecdotal.

Like I've said before, when we discuss balance about how well non-class things are working - I personally think we shouldn't use Wardens and Necros as a sole example.

Anyhow I wasn't talking about standing still and holding block in 7 Heavy. I have no idea what that feels like right now. Probably when we look at all of these armor passives, the changes in math when we switch up pieces of different weights probably don't occur in a perfectly linear fashion, there are some curves as to how much defense vs how much mobility, or whatever, and there's a mix of integer and percentile buffs which means a mix of curved and linear responses, I think. Again all highly situational, AoE vs Single Target, blocking vs roll-dodging, etc.

I'd say remove the freaking damage taken penalty from HEAVY armor.

It's so unreasonable that wearing Heavy armor make you suffer more from damage taken.

ZOS may increase mobility and / or cost penalty instead of damage taken penalty.
No improvement on Cyrodill servers -> no ESO plus renewal.

The King of PvE DPS is Light Armor.
Do you want Light Armor to be the King in PvP?

    Where is the game balance?

    PvP is rock-paper-scissors.
Did you forget that Heavy Armor has an advantage over Medium Armor?

    For Elder Stamina Online only!

    No, it's Heavy Armor Online.
The never-ending tank meta is hell.
Duel isn't popular because 1v1 never ends.

Where's the tank meta anymore? People seem generally way squishier these days to me. Even now with everyone in pariah and stage three vamp they still die. Usually. 1v1s, particularly against stam, can still end up being pretty trifling and unending though if you don't have an execute.
