I wish we could use materials (Steel Ingots, Flax, whatever) to repair our gear at crafting stations. I know it is a fantasy game and does not need to match the real world, but it seems like a workshop equipped well enough to build a whole set of armor from scratch, could also repair that armor.

Wow, you should /feedback that! I'm going to as well, now that I think about it.

One thing I noticed early on was that it's cheaper to make stuff than to fix the old. I have a hard time keeping blue items for long on a few of tunes, but it'll get better when I have alts to feed me improvement mats. One of my favorite crafting tactics on my Sorcerer is to find a green item and upgrade it to blue.

I've done entire zones with all my equipment at 0%. I barely notice a difference. Also saves money.

Wow, really? I might try that then. I guess I just assumed character performance would be severely hampered by then.

Just finished VR Grahtwood, it's easier to die, but at that point dieing means nothing.

I do the same. I've taken down elite bosses two levels higher than me, using fully broken gear. It might matter a little, due to the damage mitigation, enchant, and trait. However, I will keep retrying a fight with broken gear, to learn it's mechanics, before I even think about going in with 100% gear on.

I also wish I knew the math behind armor points and their damage mitigation. To see if armor really even matters, when it comes to 1-10 point upgrades.

The lesson is, go farming either naked, or with broken gear on. The only reason to do it with broken gear, rather than naked, is if your gear broke while you were out questing, and you don't want your broken stuff to take up bag space.

Actually, on a side note, dont know if it was mentioned: Whenever you jump down somewhere and take damage, so does your armor.

The only thing that bothers about the current system is that repair kits are not something you can find or craft . It should be a rare drop but it should be possible.

In the end the repair systems are a stupid feature that is only here because most devs can't come up with a better system than a gold economy. In many of these games gold is there to feed the the money sinks and money sinks are there to get rid of the gold. It ends up just being an annoyance to the player.
