Agreed! If you have to waste time preparing for that content, I don't want to do it.

I just don't have the key-foo, or the motivation to try and learn it. Or to memorise mechanics/dungeon maps/high-end-rotations. So I'll never be of any use in real Veteran stuff, nor would I draw much fun from it.

I love quests, and exploration, and NPC dialogues, and collecting things.

That said, I'd be happy if the overland/quest things got a little more challenging (because yes, after a year or so of playing, and getting used to how the game works, there are no challenges left in non-Vet content). But as it is there is a gap between "easy" and "Veteran" with nothing in between, and as long as that's the case I'm happy to stay on the casual side of it.

I like both, though I've never really been a fan of banging my head against the same wall until either the wall or my head breaks. Some HMs definitely fall into that category--stops being enjoyable way before I get to the point where I know it so well than I can reliably do it.

I have played for 5.6k+ hrs, so I had time to do a lot, vet dungeons and farming monster stuff included.
But now I've lost the patience to do hard content, the dungeons I find repetitive and vets often too long a chore to really amuse me.
I voted for causal then, even if once in a while something engaging may be fun, like was the murkmere giant WB that I did yesterday with 3-4 randomly convened people: more than 10' of fight, lol.

I wore out on raids and challenging content in WoW and RIFT. I can't even be bothered with delves or normal public dungeons in this game.

I'll do delves if it's something like the dailies from the argonian (whose name I don't remember right now) in Leyawiin - but that's only going to continue until I get the lead for the canoe.

I can’t think of one gaming instance I was ever put off by how easy something was, I’m 40 and have had plenty of challenges in life so I’m here for story, helping friends, general exploration and overland stuff like hunting shards and bosses. How things will change after I get most of the exploring out of the way is anyone’s guess but I’m taking it pretty slow.

I do watch quite a few theory crafters and pay attention to how players build their classes but understand I’m at a huge disadvantage playing on console without a lot of the addons that assist with tracking fights. Necro is pretty clunky for me trying to aim and activate corpses and the pets/buffs are rather short. Rough class to get good with for me let alone master as blastbones is maddening at times.

One day maybe I’ll expand into the harder aspects of the game but they are low on my priority list atm.

I pretty much exclusively play vet as normal offers me nothing at this point. It is fast 10 transmutes but what good is a quick run if it's boring and trivial..

But yeah.. Even then sometimes you hope for Fungal 1 sometimes you hope for Stone Garden.. Depends on my mood.

    Casual naturally.

Real world intrudes most times, so I do content that can be dropped/walked away from in a split second to attend to them.

Maybe, on days off, once I attain higher "levels" & gear up, I will try harder content.

Playing for me is to relax, and forget the poo in the real world. Haven't you seen it lately??

Need a change of pace, and gaming is just that...

I don't treat it as a J-O-B, and if it becomes that, I'll walk away...

    Enjoy!

I like the progression of HM Vet content. If I could only do one thing in ESO, that is what I would do. That said, I think all levels of difficulty are needed and healthy for the game. Shame they can sometimes cause divineness among the playerbase.

You can google "Goldilock's princible" and look at visuals. Too hard and too easy stuff are boring. ESO have problems. Overland content is tooooo easy. Vet MH base game dungeons are easy. Normal DLC dungeons are too hard.

I love HM addition to dungeons. Layering the difficulty is the way.

I think that one of the factors that contributes to this game's longevity is that there are so many different things to do. I'll spend some time working my way through a zone, doing the main story, checking off POI, doing x quests in the zone to get the achievements, etc until I get a little burnt out on it. Then I'll run around and I'll do some achievement hunting. Going through zones looking for M'aiq, pickpocketing, paying off guards, etc. Then I'll get board and go do some vet dungeons, doing daily pledges and harder content until I get burned out on that and just want to chill, so I'll run and work on getting mythic items and other furniture antiquities. That will get old and then I'll jump into Cyrodiil and spend sometime pushing or defending for emperor, taking keeps, ganking dirty AD or filthy DC. Eventually I'll burn out on that, then I'll have the desire to pick up where I left off on that zone I was working to 100%. Or maybe run a trial, or do HM on a dungeon I've never done. And if all these are things I feel burnt out on, I'll jump from my stamblad main to my magplar and the exact same things will feel totally different.

I play ESO like a single-player TES game. The only group stuff I do are World Bosses and public dungeons if I need to. Sometimes I will run with people in Delves for fun. But I'm into exploring big time. The game world was meant for that.

    Wow! Congratz man!!!!

I will tell you the ones i didn't pug!
During free eso plus i tried to pug all this dungeons and got to see some toxic behavior from players and lots of leavers, here's a list of the ones i remember never being able to pug on Vet.

    Fang Lair
    Scalecaller Peak
    Depths of Malatar
    Icereach
    Castle Thorn

took me more than 1 h to pug The Cauldron , we only did it because the russian tank player was patient and really good!
Can't even imagine, pugging hard modes of vet dlc dungeons.
