Grand Master Crafter achivement

I really dont get why certain achivements doesnt comes with a solid perk?
One Im thinking of is the Grand Master Crafter achivement. Its expensive and it takes time.

For one example... How come, the greatest of all crafters, the Grand Master Crafter, cant repair his/hers own gear, but instead have to visit an NPC to get them repaired - silly.
Isnt the Grand Master Crafter skilled enough to succeed crafting tasks with alot less materials, he/she is a skilled-beyond-and abowe crafter right?
He/she could actually be skilled enough to craft the Grand Master Repair kits for friends etc. And as mentioned in other posts, maybe skilled enough to set a second trait on own and others gears, or convert gear to furniture type of items.

Its like with the Master Angler. Isnt there enough fishes catched to be skilled enough to find and fillet the fishes that contains Perfect Row? A faster fishing rod etc.

Those kind of achiements should come with a real perk.

Agreed on all points! As a fellow Master Crafter and Master Angler I feel there should be more perks for sure. Although, I think things will forever stand as they are. Hey maybe a cool mythic fishing rod *wink *wink... @ZOS_GinaBruno

Well, it comes with a perk : a title.

Look, I'm a Grand Master Crafter, too, but adding something that's actually usefull would not be fair, and not desirable.

What about emperor, then? Godslayer? Planebreaker? Master fisherman?
None of them comes with anything usefull either.

There are lots of achievements that are expensivres/really hard to get/ time consuming ..
It would be a nightmare to reward them all while keeping a semblance of balance.

(seriously, a second trait would be incredibly broken)

This was examples and I actually mentioned Master Angler. Well as long as it make sense to the actual achivement, I dont see a problem. And I really dont get what could be unbalanced? That you can repair your own or friends gear? Or craft a furniture out of a axe or shield?

I dont see why it would break the the game with a second trait? Its free for everyone to complete achivments, so its not more than fair with some real perks... not just a title.

I agree with your reasoning but the problem is that once it gives a buff of any kind its seen by many as something they have to get. And like you said Grand Master Crafter is a very expensive title to obtain so people would find it unfair that the buff is locked behind such an expensive and time consuming title.

Yea, and at the same time unfair that you spent milions of gold on a "title". Achivments are free to complete for anyone who think its worth doing.

Maybe a new player finds it unfair that he cant put a second trait. But maybe the same player finds it unfair that he is only lever 1 when he start playing.

Repairs are a gold sink. I don’t see them ever letting us repair ourselves.

Sure, thats good, but hardly have anything to do with the achivement.

You can repair your own equipment by using repair kits, but you shouldn’t be able to craft them! They are just an alternative to going to a merchant. The purpose is the same: gold sink. And title should not have benefits, more cosmetics are definitely ok, but lock certain features behind achievements is not good.

Yes a second trait would be broken. But the rest is a great idea. No, it wouldn't be unfair to let you repair your own gear - anyone can get the achievement, and it's hardly game breaking to be able to do it. It would be cool to be able to craft something others couldn't, grand repair kits (or even equivalents to crown repair kits) would be a great idea. And maybe an additional reduction of 1 mat in the number of mats needed to improve items. So you would make things green by default, need 1 to make things blue, 3 to make things purple and 7 for gold (or only 3 chromium platings).

Even with all those perks, it would still take a very long time to recoup the cost of all the motifs you need to obtain for GMC.

By the way emperor used to come with perks, you used to keep a fraction of the Emperor passives even as a former emperor.

There can still be a gold sink: One could make it so the Grand Master Crafter can repair gear but at the expense of gold (which will not go to his own pockets, but will be removed from the game instead).

I always thought it shouldn’t be merchants who repair gear. Why would they have the expertise? You should be able to repair your gear at crafting tables, for the equivalent amount of gold, or that should be how you apply green repair kits (blue ones should always be repair-everything-anywhere), improving as you level up the crafting skills. That would at least give crafting stations located in places that don’t have writ pick-up and drop-off points some kind of purpose.

Other than the furniture plans which I went out of my way to get for the title all the other requirements of the Grand Master Crafter title, I would have done regardless even if there were no title for it, so that I could craft the sets, use the styles I like in the outfit system, transmute stuff and now reconstruct stuff.

Would be nice if they added style pages for the other weapons and armour to go with the Grand Master Crafter's one handed Hammer style page we unlock with the title.

Rather than making grand repair kits, I would rather have the option to combine 8 grand repair kits into one, to make my own version of the crown store one that only requires one kit to repair all your equipped gear. Its not overpowered since we already have the kits, just saves us having to repair each piece individually.

But adding a second trait would be overpowered as hell, especially with that new set that doubles the trait bonus of weapons.
