I mean I wanted to do the Mirri introduction quest on all of my characters. After doing it as intended the first time, I’ve noticed you can save quite some time if you just destroy the central pylons while attempting to save Mirri’s ally’s each time, killing her allies (and her brother) in the process. Basically i chose the quick route and chose to let all of Mirri’s allies die. Pretty sinister if you ask me.

I'd settle for my character being able to remember what he did and how he interacted with important NPC's in the same faction storyline, sometimes just moving from one zone to another causes him to forget everything.

I put it all down to constant head trauma.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

What's the point of being a hero or a real baddy in a world where everything can be 2-shoted ?

ESO quests are completely linear. That’s the difference between them and normal TES games I guess.
The story writing and questing feel has never and will never feel the same even if you do it in ESO alone on the whole server.

    Just doesn’t have that vibe

There are dark choices in the game, you can join the dark brotherhood, you can join the thieves guild, you can be a vampire or werewolf. There are choices to be had in quests, you can often either be lenient and spare people or just let them die or have someone kill them.
The problem with quests that require you to be evil is that heroic types would never do them, whereas quests that require you to be heroic might well be done by evil characters as part of some elaborate plot. So questlines that require being evil prevent people with heroic mains completing them, whereas questlines that require being heroic don't prevent evil characters doing them. It's bad enough that my main can't/won't do the DB questline on account of not being evil (especially since it blocks the other pve quests in the gold coast that you have to rank up DB to access), and is still weighing up whether she can justify doing the TG one (maybe I can justify some kind of Robin Hood motive).

Let's leave any more involved evil stuff for RP guilds.

I agree it would be awesome, I just don't see it being feasible in an mmo.. how many storylines would need to be written, how many versions of the world should be created.?

But that's the point - we shouldn't feature in the main story at all. The world moves and flows without us. We can choose to be a part of it or not. That means by definition there is only ever one story - the world story. Our part in it only affects us and those around us.

This idea that players should be able to affect the world and be it's hero is the big problem. It's juvenile stuff, and belongs in single player games IMO. An MMO should be an expansive world that is far bigger than me.

That sounds completely lame, at least for this genre of MMO. Literally the whole point of the game (at least the pve part) is taking on the biggest most powerful badasses in existence. If you want to play as just a regular guy I guess you're limited to side quests, crafting, duelling, stealing and assassination - stuff that doesn't affect the world in any bigger way.

I don't know if the game you want exists in a fantasy setting, though perhaps Elite: Dangerous comes close in a SF setting. But ESO isn't that game, and never really can be.

But like this game is already full of npcs, who are very racist and bad people in general, it is all written by the game makers, the charcters, the stories, the background, the dialogue. In fact many of the original quests deal with tensions inside the alliances and the different races in them. So why cant our hero be anti-hero too, it is just a matter of dialogue? Story is over then when you have done it, the npcs go about their business. The player runs to the next quest. I don't know why this would be hard to include in the game.
