Sneak Attack

is it just me or are the majority of players out there completely oblivious to sneak attacks? 90% of the time if i'm circling around a mob to get a sneak attack, someone will run up and either
A: Aggro the mob and turn it towards me
or
B: Walk where I am, but not sneaking, also turning the mob to me.

it's gotten to the point that when other players show up , i just *** off in the opposite direction or wait til they've gone away.

So the question is are people really that oblivious? or just trolling? lol

Just because another player sees you sneaking near a mob, don't expect them to let you get a sneak attack in, they aren't thinking about you, it's the 'all about me' attitude these days.

If the mob has aggro'ed on them, I just TP strike and have done with it.

I really wish they hadn't made sneak attack only work from the back half of the mob. I miss stealth archery, and it just isn't viable when you have to run 50 yards to get behind a mob (the further away from the mob you are the more running you have to do to reposition). I'm also not sure how anyone without a racial stealth mod positions behind mobs in tight quarters.

Honestly though, most of the time it doesn't make a whole lot of difference if there's already two or more players present. If you can one shot the mob then two players are going to just roll over them anyway. Basically two people just running in swinging are going to take the mobs down just as fast as one guy sneaking around behind while the other sits there doing nothing. I use stealth and I still admit this.

Oh i'm not saying that charging in swinging isn't viable, I have a sword&board/greatsword summoner and that's how i play him, but man it gets frustrating trying to play stealth when no one will let you, i's not really other players fault, it's this silly megaserver nonsense, so many people in a phase, to the point that it starts to ruin the fun. for example, quests where you travel back in time in other peoples bodies or into the mind of someone or something, and you see 10 other people in the same disguise.....blergh love mmos but man they really need to ramp up the individual phasing in some quests

Well you also have to consider that unless you're in a group that person isn't going to get any XP or loot for your awesome one-shot kills. From that regard, it's really rather silly of you to expect people to wait for you to set up combat in public areas.

I just let the tough guy run in swinging and sneak past to the next set of mobs. Maybe two down just to give some breathing room.

lol it's not that i expect them to wait for me, but when you are surrounded by mobs on all sides and are capable of attacking any of them, why is it always the one the guy sneaking is going for? lol

Probably because it's the closest mob most of the time. Also if you're not grouping with someone and they do run in it's not going to break your stealth. Let the mobs run past you to them and simply turn around and stab one that he isn't attacking. I didn't think of doing it that way for a long time simply because I didn't realize that the mobs can swarm around me and as long as someone else has aggro I maintain stealth.

I got some practice with this today in one of the vet solo dungeons full of Vet 1^ mobs. I actually had fun doing it this way and it felt like we were cooperating even though we never partied.
