Limit on ignore accounts

Given that gold selling spam is still rampant, especially in lower-level areas, I find it hard to understand why on earth there should be a limit on the "ignore player" function, let alone one as low as 100.

If ZOS aren't going to ban the spammers, AT THE VERY LEAST let us ignore them in chat without having to install third-party add-ons.

I completely understand. .. In one day I can ignore 30+ gold spammers. Last time I reported a gold spammer it took 5 days to get the email with a ticket number so deleting them off your ignore list after a couple of days is a waste of time with how long it takes for their account to get banned.

Also when I report them I got an email telling me how to ignore people from CS... i sent a reply that it would be nice but my list Is full of active spammers.

While it is annoying I would rather have them spend their time on making the base game better with bug/glitch fixes. Add ons are great! Happy to have them really and if it fixes the gold spamming in my chat then that is just fine by me.

A typical spammer account has an average lifetime of a couple of hours before it gets banned. You can safely clear out your ignore list, vast majority of those do not need ignoring anymore.

You could always get the spam filter addon:

I'll try that, but it's one more thing to waste my time when I could be playing... In any case, thanks for the tip.

Yeah, but as I said, I'd rather not have any add-ons. That's just the way I roll.

I just turn off zone chat while questing... If I need to lfg or something, I turn it back on... Get out of the lowbie zones and there is no more spam.

That addon is useless now. The author has pretty much given up on keeping it updated and is saying "make your own filters".

Get this one instead. http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info211-X4DLibAntiSpam.html This one is being updated 2-3 times/day, AND it automatically blocks spam so you don't have to /ignore them. It optionally gives you the name of the spammer (just the name, not their spam) so you can report them.

With this addon there is no reason to use your ignore list for gold spammers.

The guy who makes that addon needs to be given a 30 day free playtime extension for his work by Zeni, I'm sure that one addon has kept many people from just quitting outright.
