What will midyear event bring?

    I'm betting the 24th.

They'll not want to release a new big thing the same time as MYM since you know there'll be bugs from the new stuff. With Console Enhanced coming on the 15th, and the incoming Endeavors system, I'll bet MYM will be later than those.

You can usually get a good feel for when events are by looking for gaps in the Showcase, but this time the big gaps are all on the 17th. However, I'd bet that's going to be the date the Iron Atro crates drop with the new Endeavor system, as that's right about the time it should happen, and they won't want any new releases in the store to take away from that.

Last year, MYM started June 25, so it seems reasonable that they'd follow a similar schedule to drop it on the 24th this year since events tend to start Thursdays.

How exactly would you be preventing a PVPer from participating in a PVP event when you're already actively engaging them in PVP combat? You just gave them what they wanted out of the event...PVP.

Pretty much, if you're red you're dead. If you're picking up a pretty flower but you're red, then you're dead. If you're talking to a quest giver, if you're red you're dead. If you're sitting on your mount completely still, if you're red you're dead. I don't discriminate who I kill, I PK anyone who opposed my faction by being apart of another faction. Those are the rules, I just play by them.

So when exactly does Midyear Mayhem begin???

So nobody actually knows WHEN this starts? I'm trying to get a character ready, but would like to know in advance. Everywhere I look all it says is "June 2021"... but no specific date.

I think the best guess is June 17th when the crown store/crates refresh but time will tell. I have no interest in pvp so this events a miss for me unfortunately but I hope the rest enjoy it.

The crates are refreshing tomorrow, I think, in that they're supposedly on their last day.

The Dragonscales have the timer on and are leaving tomorrow, but they're not the current season. The current season is the Ayleids, and there's no indication they're leaving yet.

Though I wouldn't be shocked to see a '7 DAYS LEFT' timer pop on them tomorrow...

Right, you tried to use the logic you saw them present, but reverse the roles of PVErs and PVPers....but it doesn't work when reversed, is what I'm pointing out. We can prevent you from completing PVE content because you're actually in a PVP zone, which is why that logic works out in our favor....because it's really PVP content.

I'm sure the 200ap ganking players in town goes a long way towards faction campaign score. I guess you're kinda missing the point, sorry. Yes, killing random solo players is pvp. Gold star for you. Now, when you go out and actively hunt them down in towns with no pvp objectives, it's less impressive. Blow to the ego, I'm sure. Especially when you get ripped to shreds because you run into actual PVPers while doing so and let the colorful /w's fly while you ride for 15 minutes back to your hiding spot, hoping to god the next person you see has a "Champion of Vivec" title.

It's these people the complaints are aimed at, not the pvp in general. Yes, our pve friends could "get used to it, it's PVP!", but showing a little bit of restraint is a virtue. One I have practiced time and time again during this event. It is, after all, a game. A toy. And can be taken lightly, believe it or not.

The way you are phrasing it, you make it seem like every single pvper is doing this. And they're not. I'm sorry to burst your bubble. The majority of players are not stopping you. If you want to go in and wear pve gear and then complain about having a hard time, then idk what to tell you. But I'm not going to feel sorry for people who go into a pvp zone and do not try in the slightest. Make an effort and I guarantee you are going to have more fun. And clearly you have no idea how AP works. You kill people you get AP and that moves you up on the leaderboards.

If a pvper wants to do a quest, guess what they have the same problem, people will kill them too. Some people are trolls but I am tired of hearing the whole pve community bash pvp constantly. I play both pve and pvp, and tbh pve gets everything. So two times a year you guys have to engage in pvp and it's not fair. Yet you get every other 20 events set in pve. So tighten up your laces and get good. No gold star for you.

Look, no one who's hunting questers in the non-objective towns cares about the faction score. They care about the kills, the killing blows for achievements, the quests for killing players, the double exp for killing players, and the double AP. All of which are a part of PVP and get extra rewards for Midyear Mayhem. There may be nothing "impressive" about it, but those players don't care. They get exactly the rewards ZOS intends from those activities.

Though don't complain to me if anyone gets hit while questing in Vlastarus, Cropsford, or Bruma. Those are very, very explicitly PVP objectives and should never be considered safe questing zones even by the most staunchly PVE-only quester.

It'll also include glory, violence, crying, cheering, mindless zergs facing off against calculated ball groups, ball groups vs ball groups, the occasional solo player getting steam rolled, the solo player steam rolling a Zerg, 100 people sieging a keep with one siege weapon, 100 siege weapons shooting a keep manned by one person, people running stat sets thinking it's still no proc, proc set runners getting beaten by stat set people, stat set people getting beaten by proc set runners, packs of werewolves howling, that one vampire still trying to make the skill line work, etc, etc, etc....

    I laughed so hard ^_^
Also, it'll bring my templar excuse to use javelin, to throw ppl off ledges right in the middle of incoming zerg. I rarely play PVP but for this it's worth it :F

No one would have believed in the mid year of 2021 that Cyrodill was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than NPC's and yet as mortal as any other; that as players busied themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinised and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a Telvanni with a a magnifying glass might scrutinise the transient creatures that swarm and multiply like mushrooms. With infinite complacency, men and mer went to and fro about the globe, confident of their alliance's empire over this world. Yet across the gulf of Nirn and in a private discord channel with many emotes and funny gifs, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic regarded Alliance Pop Locked with envious eyes and slowly, and surely, drew their harmony group bombing plans against us.
