It'll also include glory, violence, crying, cheering, mindless zergs facing off against calculated ball groups, ball groups vs ball groups, the occasional solo player getting steam rolled, the solo player steam rolling a Zerg, 100 people sieging a keep with one siege weapon, 100 siege weapons shooting a keep manned by one person, people running stat sets thinking it's still no proc, proc set runners getting beaten by stat set people, stat set people getting beaten by proc set runners, packs of werewolves howling, that one vampire still trying to make the skill line work, etc, etc, etc....

Lots and Lots of Lag.

I remember midyear from 2019. It was so bad all of us would crash upon reaching a battle. Like running South from Sej to Alessia, you'd get right across that bridge, up the hills and *BAMM*:

- Server crashes, but doesn't log you out
- 1 Login Attempt Fails
- 2 Login Attempts Fail
- 3 Login Attempts Fail
- 4 Login Attempts Fail
- Finally able to login, loading Cyrodiil Character
- Crash
- Login again, load character in Cyrodiil
- Crash
- Login again, load character for Cyrodiil
- Crash
- Login again, this time I arrive back at the start base in Cyrodiil along with maybe 15 to 20 other players and the battle at Alessia has ended.
- 50k to 100k tick for Alessia Keep Capture participants who were already there and didn't crash

Exit Midyear Mayhem Event and go back to farming writs/mats

The main benefit is the double AP boost and double EXP from player kills.

On PTS, there's some new Alliance-themed styles. You can earn up to three tickets per day by completing quests in Cyrodiil or the Battlegrounds (2 per day) and the Imperial City districts (1 additional ticket per day).


And yes, there will be a flood of tears and a plethora of salt on the forums as players who hate PVP come to grips with the idea that, yes, ZOS really does want you to do ALL the content if you want ALL the rewards. Either conquer your "fear of missing out" and skip doing an event you hate, or buck up, buttercup, and accept that PVPers aren't going to stop PVPing in PVP-enabled zones during a PVP-centric event.

I'm not sure what else you expect people to do in IC, since that's literally what it's designed for and the Devs expected to happen.

From the IC launch details: "Fight Molag Bal's personal guard, the elite Xivkyn, and other invaders from Coldharbour to win Tel Var Stones, the currency used to trade for mighty Veteran Rank 16 armor sets. But be on your guard—enemy Alliance members lurk around every corner throughout the Imperial Districts and Sewers. Should you fall to an enemy player, they can claim your hard-earned Tel Var Stones in their own quest for glory."

Of course, the main reason PVP is stale as two-week-old bread left out in the open is that ZOS broke performance and can't fix it.

Players who think camping PvEers at quest givers is "pvp" and then send me friendly whispers when ol' Nasty Blasty Bones doesn't care about your cloak as you run away. Then make topics like "OMG why do pvers complain when we only get 2 events a year?! (As I actively prevent them from completing the event)"

It is a small percentage of players that camp out at quest givers. The majority of pvp players are trying to boost their ap gain. So they are taking keeps, fighting battles, and stealing scrolls. The people who camp at quests are just trolls. But if you are going into pvp you're going to die, and you have to accept that fact. If another faction sees you, they are going to kill you. You want to do a pvp event, then pvp.

I think the best guess is June 17th when the crown store/crates refresh but time will tell. I have no interest in pvp so this events a miss for me unfortunately but I hope the rest enjoy it.
