@jecks33 Yeah, but in this case, harvesting the node took both surveys at once, so how one left and came back doesn't really matter.

I would not rezone on surveys to get them to respawn. It can cause issues. If the thinks you have started the second survey for any reason, you lose it when you do this.

Instead, ride or run a short distance away (until you lose line of site to the survey) and then come back. The nodes should spawn again. Most of the time the distance you need to ride is not far. I have never lost a survey this way.

I've tested again in multiple zones, and it appears to only be for Western Skyrim surveys that this bug is occuring. However you can keep these surveys safe in the meantime by putting the duplicates in your bank, the bug won't delete your duplicates if they're not currently in your inventory.

Blackwood surveys are totally bugged. I had 2 clothing surveys. I found one node, no others were anywhere around, and now both surveys are gone. And surveys that I did find are really spread out instead of being clustered together. I am afraid to try to do any other surveys, since I have already lost a few hundred mats due to surveys disappearing and nodes that don't exist.

I just lost at least 8 Jewely surveys in Western Skyrim due to this bug. This bug seems to be right on time with the free Eso+ week.

I thought this was fixed about, isn't it since Blackwood launch? Oh boy, I wonder how many surveys I lost and didn't notice. I thought several times "oh, that 16 surveys at the same spot went a lot faster than I would have thought, on to the next one".

Additionally I can confirm that some nodes are hard to get. Usually, when I got them as target, I could press "E", the character would move towards it and farm the node. Now it usually happens the character walks there, but doesn't farm the node. Then pressing E again won't work. I have to move first a bit, then I can press E again. I solved this by walking almost inside the node and pressing "E" two times fast. It is annoying and I don't know why anyone would think a change like that would be an improvement.

Me and a friend also encountred the bug. My friend had tried your suggestion and somehow even one from the bank was removed. In don't know if he had an accident or if the bug could even remove surveys from the bank. Just mentioning it so people who want to try this suggestion pay intention if they encounter the same problem as my friend.

If it even effects the bank the only solutions would be:
a) Sending the surveys to a friend one at a time and getting them to send it back so you could grab them from your inbox.
b) Storing them on another character and move one in the bank and then grab it from the bank with the chracter that collects them.

Here is what me and a friend encountered.

Surveys are account bound, so only b) would work. The game should not be able to "see" anything stored on an alt when you are not logged onto it.

Right, guess its time to stock up surveys and do them after a few months if they have bothered to fix the bug. Get ready to pay more for the raw materals ;D

Just tested this on W.Skyrim with the surveys I would 'miss' the least.

With 2 x Woodworker surveys in inventory the moment I harvested the first node both vanished.

I guess the next step is to give the duplicate surveys from the affected area(s) - I have only experienced this in W.Skyrim, not sure if it happens on other zones - to a different character.

If they still disappear while the character is offline I am going to call witchcraft on this one.

I tested it out and put all but one of my 7 Western Skyrim blacksmithing surveys in the bank, collected the one I had on me, it took an extra one from the bank and I only had 5 in the bank. I moved away from the survey took one out leaving 4 in the bank, turned off my addons, logged out and back in and collected the survey, again it took one out of the bank leaving me with only 3 left in the bank.

I guess that is a good excuse not to bother collecting surveys.

I put 2 of my remaining 3 blacksmithing surveys on another character and then picked up the one my main character was carrying. When I went back the other character still had his 2 safe and sound. But that is a long winded way of stopping the game stealing the surveys. I had all my add-ons running since the problem does not seem related to add-ons.

Along with the Blackwood "improvements" stealing the potions we used to be able to pickup, I am having a dim view of the new kleptomaniac ESO game. At least it never got my companion armor.

@ZOS_Kevin this is still happening, can you please let us know if you guys are aware?

Only seems to be West Skyrim, I do a lot of surveys and have never had trouble with any others.
