Mirri's Rapport Meter DOES NOT MOVE

While I like the graphic, I would also like to see a numeric counter as well. Rapport improved... but by how much? How much does it take to gain (or lose) anything significant? If the meter does anything, it's so hard to really notice that it appears like it isn't working at all. Maybe a history of rapport gains/losses?

I can hope it will be soon that a rapport addon is made that will communicate changes better.

No, but they unlock skills so it's worth doing (fastest of the guild dailies, too).

I had a lazy day scrying and excavating Blackwood Tapestry today and noticed that Miri likes finding antiquities (increases jher rapport) but there appear to be 15 minutes CD on the gain.

Yup it is hellishly slow but it does move. For a while I thought it was not moving but stared doing screen captures at beginning and end of play and yes, I could see that it is indeed progressing. It would be reassuring though if they'd have put some progress numbers of the bar.

Yeah Ive just completed all of Blackwood with most achievements and Mirri has been with me since the very start, she hasn't changed at all in Rapport.

Bit sad really that ZOS puts such a large grind on these things. The grind is looking so painful that I doubt I will even bother doing those quests they have built which is a shame because the team does a great job on quests.

    All of them. :disappointed:

Kidding, obviously. One clever tip people are using is to unlock the Companion of choice on all your characters, grab & complete the dailies on everyone, and be sure to turn them in while your Companion is summoned BUT MAKE SURE TO WAIT an appropriate amount of time between turn-ins -- apparently there's a cooldown to how quickly they can earn Rapport this way (reports vary from 5 - 15 minutes, and I am not certain enough to provide a solid answer, sadly). Just as an FYI sort of deal from the hearsay I've encountered. I have not bothered to do this myself. YMMV.

It's tedious, but it's one way to speed up the grind if you don't like doing dailies at an actual one-a-day pace.

Numani-Rasi 's daily quest in vvardenfell gives about the same rapport as the fighters guild daily for Marri, just doing those 2 dailies makes the rapport increase more noticeable.

I keep getting negative Rapport from her when I gathering resources. She will hate me 100% eventually all because of that so I see no point in using her. Would been better if she was just dumb follower that said nothing. Sure could be a bug or something. So either fix her or remove the Rapport all together. Because its getting really annoying.

I don't have that problem with Bastian.

Regarding "Sure could be a bug or something.", Mirri hates when you harvest bugs. ;)

The issue is the bar for rapport gives us no measurable information to see the changes. I find this odd since so much of the XP for skill lines and the companion itself allow us to hover over the bar to see how much XP is required for that level and how much has been earned. To me it seems obvious we should see how much positive, or negative, the rapport we have with the companion and what the max is for each direction.

Hopefully, Zos decides to add such important information eventually.

What I don't understand is how their experience is calculated, as I thought it was a percentage of what experience YOU are rewarded. That isn't totally true, however, for I killed a dragon (getting 9K experience) and Mirri only got 99 experience points. Yet when I killed one of the Dodo birds or any other mundane creature, she gets plenty more experience! Why?!

Isn't Rapport exclusive to individual characters, and not shared across the account?

I know people are doing something similar to what you said, but via being in a large group and sharing dailies with each other.

@swook33b16_ESO normal harvesting with either companion should not reduce rapport. It sounds like you might be grabbing the occasional flying insect to gather bug parts? That is something that will evoke a rapport drop from Mirri (but not Bastion).

Since I'm not one of the people who's grinding it up, I can't say for certain. I only have Companions unlocked on two of my characters at the moment, but it sure looks like their Rapport meter is the same no matter which I'm on. I was under the impression that stuff like Rapport and level-up progress is account-wide and tied to the Companion themselves, not your characters -- but I can't swear by it.

Hopefully others who are going more in-depth with these methods & systems can chime in here. I don't want to spread misinformation.

Well, both my fav chars use Stampede a lot, which means accidentally killing crawlies a lot. I guess Bastian is not the guy for me. I've only accidentally grabbed a torchbug once with Mirri, but I accidentally Stampeded a little snake and got a positive rapport from her. :)

I believe the patch notes specify that level and skill progress are account-wide, but rapport and associated quests/achievements are character-based.

The folks who are turning in the guild daily quests across all their characters are doing it to level the companions' guild skill lines. The folks who are grouping with others and sharing the guild daily quests so they can do many on one character are doing it to build rapport.

I can confirm that after doing many Mages Guild dailies Bastian has given me both his quests and we have passed through "cordial" to "friendly" and are now "close". I'm a ways away from having his rapport maxed, but it does move when you do the most efficient activities to move it.

for me seems like she has preference for what and where (dwemer delves, some public dungeons - ?places she likes?); killing enemy with skill...

for rapport for me it goes read a book, make alcoholic drink, visit daedric delve, kill snake when i remember to do it + guilds daily, and i drag her with on what i'm doing except crafting - already 11lvl, passed second quest, except of doing one of each guilds daily i didn't put much effort... if someone puts effort in grind probably has companion around lvl20.

Sounds like a hell of a boring grind.

It is tedious, but they've also only been out for five days and I already have him almost maxed rapport-wise and could have had them both maxed already if my guilds would cooperate a bit more with sharing. Someone in Grahtwood zone chat tried to charge me 30k for a quest share...I'm not that desperate. But you could easily have both of them at max level, max rapport, and max guild skill lines in a week and then never have to think about it again - or not grind so much and just let them level up more slowly.

Ulitmately, we understand that the system in place is meant to take a while, which is fine. Most anything else worth having in the game has some sort of grind attached to it.

However, in this case the fact that there are no visible numbers on progress anywhere is a resoundingly rude bit of neglect here from the development team. Please put some numbers showing progression on the rapport in the same way that we can see XP gain.

The game could also add a visible health bar to the companion when summoned, and even a rudimentary stats panel on them under character sheet would be helpful as well since different equipment gives them different percentages of damage, health, and so on especially once you start outfitting them in blue and purple pieces.

Fighters Guild dailies give a much bigger boost than other sources. She also appears to get extra XP when finishing a dolmens, so share those FG dailies! Once you hit friendly and do her personal quest, that will give you another boost.

Rapport changes I've seen so far:

    +125 complete Fighters Guild Daily
+125 complete Numani-Rasi relics daily in Vvardenfell
    +5 excavate Antiquity
    +5 loot Psijic portal
+1 kill a goblin trash mob
    +1 kill a snake critter
    +1 craft an alcoholic beverage
    +1 read a book
    -1 harvest a flying insect

The 5-15minute cooldown means that after you harvest a bug, you're safe to harvest a bunch more for a while. And reading every shelf in a library in quick succession will only get you +1 rapport.

Thank you sPark101 for suggesting Numani-Rasi. That almost doubles daily rapport progress.

My occasional accidental critter-killing has been met with "you're going to eat that, right?" Which...no, Bastian, I'm not going to eat that rat that I happened to burn to a crisp with a light attack while fighting some bandits. But I don't see any loss of rapport with it.
