Mirri's Rapport Meter DOES NOT MOVE

I have been putting a lot of effort into this and her meter just does not move. I make her alcoholic drinks, take her on Fighters Guild dailies, take her to Daedric delves, I slaughter goblins and snakes, I take her excavating, and I read lore books, all of which grant me the green rapport icon at the bottom of the screen but her meter NEVER MOVES. Is it broken? I am I doing something wrong? This is very discouraging.

It takes several days for it to move, and some actions award more rapport than others.

ZOS has created a system that works, but is so bad at showing the player that it's working that a large amount of players legitimately feel like it's broken.

As mentioned above, keep doing those dailies as they award 125 rapport while other activities award a maximum of 10 rapport. Mirri gets the huge boost from the Fighter's guild daily and Bastian gets it from the Mage's Guild daily. Try and get into a group that can share multiples a day and you can actually start to see the bar move... a bit.

Once you realize the massive difference in awarded points, it makes sense that the bar won't appear to move when you get 1 point at a time when it barely moves when you get over 100 at a time.

When you finally get her quest it moves enough you can notice. Otherwise it pretty much seems stuck.

I’m ok with rapport taking a long time and it being a relationship not an event; but i would like to know that something is happening.

What is the point of Rapport to begin with?

I think Rapport opens them up to talking with you and doing their own personal quests which you help them with. That's what is implied from the announcement.

I keep getting negative Rapport from her when I gathering resources. She will hate me 100% eventually all because of that so I see no point in using her. Would been better if she was just dumb follower that said nothing. Sure could be a bug or something. So either fix her or remove the Rapport all together. Because its getting really annoying.

I don't have that problem with Bastian.

Is that negative? It is not clear at all. I am supposed to not gather mats to make gear because of her? That really sucks.

It does move but very very slowly as already pointed out here above.

But I fully agree that a bit more visibility would be encouraging, like a number or a percentage where one can see some change, the way it is now is quite discouraging and I cannot believe that it is intended to discourage players to use the companion

I took quite a few screepshots of the rapport bar while playing for about 8-10 hours and there was absolutely no movement from the indicator.

@swook33b16_ESO normal harvesting with either companion should not reduce rapport. It sounds like you might be grabbing the occasional flying insect to gather bug parts? That is something that will evoke a rapport drop from Mirri (but not Bastion).

I find she comments on harvesting, but I thought it was OK or even good. She definitely doesn't like me gathering bug parts.

It moves but veeeery slowly.

This it the progress I made today after crafting a drink, killing a goblin, visiting a deadric delve, visiting the Brass Fortress from the bridge into the city, and completing the Fighters Guild daily:

In addition to unlocking their second quest, there's achievements associated with maxing out Rapport. And you need those achievements to unlock the bonus item thingy that grants you their benefit even when they aren't traveling with you.

For example, Bastian's bonus is that when you loot potions, he has a chance to improve them; normally you'd need him with you for this to happen, but there's an achievement for maxing all his everythings that'll grant you that benefit [what I believe to be, based on wording] permanently -- whether he's summoned or not.

You cannot collect ANY type of flying insect at all with Mirri, or you lose rapport (I disabled the option in the "No, Thank You" addon so I don't accidentaly grab one. With Bastian, apparently killing any crawling thing loses rapport. He even commented something like, 'You should really respect all life' after I killed a frog.

Yep, so as said here already, the way to level their rapport is to do Mages Guild dailies for Bastian and Fighters Guild dailies for Mirri. Get in a group or just find folks who all have different quests and do them all one by one. He finally respects me as an ally and saw fit to give me his first quest. So there is light at the end of the tunnel, the tunnel is just...a bit painful.

Um... We do not get ANY XP from killing/harvesting insects, rats, etc... so no, it's not hypocritical at all.

No it is, there are sources of experience that do not require killing but also do not level up companions. Unless I am wrong (I am regularly) companions do not gain experience from crafting or master writs. And the could.

If Bastian is going to insist on telling me on a regular basis that I need to value life and that it decreases his rapport when doing so then his moral code and rapport should decrease when killing any life, and if he values life so much then his leveling process should not be fed off of death and thus the hypocrisy.

Mirri's view atleast is about preying on the weak, but that too has its flaws of hypocrisy as there are a lot of weak mobs out there.

It does move, excruciatingly slow. Just do the fighters guild daily on Mirri and get on with it.

I do all three guild quests with each of my six alts, so each Companion gets 3x guild quests per day. I feel sorry for players that don't have alts, as it will take 60 days for them to level the guild skill lines.

Going to double up on what others said that guild quests increase their rapport the most. Can speak from experience. Time to share some dailies!

There is a 5 minute cooldown and a daily cap according to some. Not sure as to what that is.

Also, does anyone know if companions count toward the ring of pale order changes?

They need a number on the meter so you know how much rapport you have.

I dont get negative rapport, or at least I don't get a notification of a rapport loss like I do with a rapport gain. The most I get is a comment about "nice haul" or "we always need plenty of those" which dont seem like negatives either.

?? ahh man....wonder who at Zenimax thought this was a good idea? Well Bastion did not complain when I stuck a dagger in the back of waking flame member. Man if he said that each time I kill Hostile enemy......Zenimax really need to rethink the followers/companions.

You can use Superstar to check the exact NUMBER of the Rapport. The default number is 750 when you have your companion first time, and it is no more than 5500 and no less than -4500. I played several hours and only imporved the number from 750 to about 890.
