Companion Equipment?

So... I played for about 6 hours today, most of it with a shiny new companion. In all that time, doing numerous delves, dungeons, dolmens and world bosses... not ONE piece of equipment my companion can USE.

Does it only drop in Blackwood? Does it drop AT ALL, or am I going to have to get gear from the store or something?

We noticed this problem on the PTS and asked them to increase companion drops. They apparently didn’t. My experience today is similar to yours — hours of play, including many bosses killed. Only a single drop of companion equipment.

I got a pair of blue shoes at a world boss. The frog one. That's all so far.

I did Arx and got 3 companion drops...

1 blue battle axe
2 green resto staves

and still no Inferno Staff for me

Do you daily dungeons as a dou on vet and you will both get drops if you have companions out and it should be purple items, or best chance.

i checked NPC vendors and didnt see any companion equipment....

Which vendors? I found them easily enough in Vulkhel Guard. You just have to make sure you're going to the RIGHT vendors. These are not the 'crafter' NPCs, and you also have to have a companion unlocked before the companion gear will show up.

As for drops, I got about four pieces of gear tonight doing guild quests, boss drops I think. Got three blue pieces and a green resto staff. STILL, the drop rate SUCKS... and definitely needs to be improved bigtime!!

So I got a drop piece of Companion gear, I noticed it was Researchable.
I thought you could not craft Companion gear.

The say you cannot upgrade it or repair it but no mention on crafting it.
So I tried to research it and I cannot. Not sure if this is a bug or ???

Can you research and then craft Companion gear?

Nope. Companion gear is all to its self. We cant craft, improve, sell, research or decon it. Sorry.

That what I thought. I was surprised to see it said it was able to be researched...

I figured it out a add-on is responsible for showing it is researchable.

There must be somewhere to but equipment !
My Mirri Elendis have some armor and a bow from start, not the best but some.
She have lost it all also the shoulders I did found at a world boss.
So it will be nice to get some.
I have write the support before and I know if I have to write support, the first mail will be computer generated.
If you still have the problem nag nag nag.
The next mail will be with question and before I get help the next 6 month is gone.
So I need some equipment for Mirri Elendis, special a weapon.
I can only find heavy armor for her.

This is the reason I am not paying full price for Blackwood. I wrote an impassioned plea to ZoS about not making the armour unattainable, but nobody listens to me. And I spent a great deal more than 6 hrs playing time on the PTS for an axe and a lightning staff. So I will wait for a sale, or DLC.

There is an option to make them houseguests, and I do buy houseguests.

I have no doubt that they will eventually bring "companion crafting" to ESO... probably attached to a DLC or Chapter just like Jewelry Crafting. I think that's their plan, to generate such hatred for the gear grind, that everyone will buy whatever DLC companion crafting is attached to.

I purchased Blackwood a few hours ago and unlocked Mirri and decided to test her out in the Alik'r desert on dolmen and in delves.

After around 2 hours of play the companion gear I collected so far are, green shoes, blue helmet, blue shield and purple gloves. Not a lot of stuff or exactly what I'd like but stuff is dropping.

Do you have to have the companion active at the time to have a drop? I don't have them with me sometimes when I'm killing stuff. If I don't have them out, do I loose out on a possible gear drop?

Also. Can a toon that does not have them unlocked yet get a piece of gear to drop?

These are good questions... what I DO know is that Companions will not level unless you have them out... including when you turn in guild quests. I'm assuming that the same applies to Companion drops... I do know that you do not have access to buying Companion gear from NPC vendors until you have actually completed the quest and unlocked at least one companion.

Also, I was running dolmens last night leveling my Magcro, and I received several Companions drops. The previous night I actually received a purple aggressive ring doing dolmens, so I know that purple drops ARE a thing, just extremely rare; usually I get greens or blues.
